Delicious and wholesome. It's the kind of food that someone who cares about you would make for you: it tastes amazing but is also sustaining and nourishing. Favorites were the jerk tofu !!!, sweet potatoes, and plantains, but pretty much everything was great. The Beyond patty was also a nice treat. Portions are generous. We're just visiting the area for the night but we're definitely coming again the next time we're in CT.
Best vegan food I have had in the New Haven area. The curry potatoes, jerk tofu and cabbage are my favorite thus far, but I have enjoyed everything I have tried. The large combo can feed 2 people and is only $15. I also bought plates for my non-vegan parents and they rated the meal a 10/10! Will be returning often!
The best vegan food and my favorite restaurant in town. The jerk tofu is incredible, the Mac and cheese is to die for, the greens are savory and delicious. The chickpeas are saucy and delightful. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like. This is a true gem of new haven and I can’t speak any more highly of it. Usually you either have to go in or call ahead, I don’t think they use any take-out apps. But honestly the trip is more than worth it. They don’t use any highly processed meat substitutes, just hearty and filling vegetables, beans, etc. And, because of this I would strongly recommend to both herbivores and omnivores alike. Worth making a trip if you live in CT, I love to get it after going on a long east rock hike.
Absolutely amazing food! Stopped while walking by and the woman behind the counter was incredibly friendly. She gave me lots of recommendations. Loved everything I tried but the jerk tofu was the best. Will be back again soon!
Friendly and helpful staff. Food tastes good, I did wish for more spicy options when I visited years ago. I set this google map location up after their grand opening. I was glad somebody brought plantains to downtown NH.
Food is good, staff friendly. Get there early cause the mac n cheese vegan runs out quick and you have to wait for the next round. But not me! I order 2 plates baby hahaha. 1 to eat now and 1 to eat 10 minutes later. Oh hell yea. Eat eat eat! Black owned so SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT
Heard someone mention this vegan place on the Yale shuttle and decided to try! It was my first time having Caribbean style food and I really like the Jerk Tofu and Banana Bread!
Mac and cheese taste like elbow mixed with mayo and nutritional yeast. Curry tofu not bad i’ll give 7 out of 10 score. Curry powder lots of flour and firm tofu that’s it. Yams ... Why are the yams cubed and mimicking cubed tofu is beyond me. All of these sweet potatoe cubed yams. I will see if my dog wants iit. My dad side is from North Carolina and mother side straight islander. Disappointed! 30 dollars. I support my black people business though! But please do better!!!!
I had a small plate - jerk tofu, curried chickpeas, and green beans. All were very warm and wonderful! It’s way more tastier than it looks in the picture
They have good food. But customer service really could use some improvement. You can only order online which is odd enough. In addition they give a their website as the place to order the food. Only to go the site and all items on the menu say out of stock, Plus they don't allow Dine in. As a result, not allowing me to order smh. Yes improvement is necessary in this area of business.
