We were looking for a hidden gem in central Denver and boy did we find one! Nola offers traditional down home Cajun food in a fun and authentic environment. The decor takes you back to the New Orleans French Quarter, featuring authentic Cajun and Creole dishes like Cajun jambalaya, friend catfish and other favorites. The owner even came over to say hello and share a bite to eat. If your craving southern comfort this is the place for you!
Nola Voodoo Tavern is a great spot! Customer Service was awesome!! Best Shrimp Pullboy I've had. The Hurricane, ooohhhweeee, best mixed drink I'd have to say. I recommend dining in instead of delivery. Go check this hidden gem out!
OMG‼Amazing experience Visting from Omaha, NE for my boyfriends birthday, and the Owner had him a free slice of Pineapple Upside-down Cake. Steve is very friendly and is from New Orleans like my boyfriend, so it was a lot of good vibes. We felt like old friends. It was a great experience for the first day on our trip.Dine in: Yes
Food wasn't really that good but their hurricane was great! Maybe I went on a bad day for the kitchen. The blackened shrimp was very salty. The red beans and rice was good but didn't come with any rice in it. I had to ask for it. The service was great though!
Nola Voodoo Tavern is a hidden gem! Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, the restaurant has some excellent food for an extremely reasonable price. The Hot Sausage poboy was one of the better sandwiches I've had outside New Orleans. Excellent service, nola style atmosphere, great food.
It’s a daunting task to step out of your comfort zone and try a new restaurant, especially when you’re inviting friends and colleagues. NOLA did not disappoint! We stepped into a cultural comfort zone of friendly service, welcoming ownership, and delicious comfort food that will transport your taste buds back to the south. If you are looking for a cozy, inviting, creole feel that embodies the festive spirit of New Orleans, step into NOLA. We tried a variety of delights – fried pickles, fried catfish, and the NOLA sampler trio. All will tantalize your taste buds! Bon appetit my friends!
Took my leftovers back on my flight to Illinois and my very picky elderly parents were so impressed. The owner was really nice also. The best tasting food in bland Colorado!!!!!!!! Everyone in these reviews who says the food is not good is either a rival restaurant owner or drug user.
A winner for me every time I come to town. Not sure if the lettuce option to the poboy is new or if I just never asked before. Nonetheless, my Surf and Turf poboy New Orleans hot sausage patty topped with delicious fried shrimp was amazing as always. And the sampler with jambalaya is a must try...
I described a dish with my review on accident. Bottom line. The food is sick dope tight. Highly recommend this place. Has big time New Orleans energy.
My partner ordered lunch from here as a to-go order this morning. Generally speaking, the food is good which is why he was willing to drive 25 minutes into downtown Denver to grab the food. The catfish dinner he got was delicious and we were really happy with it. Then we got to the cheesecake and before I even opened it, I saw that the back was moldy. This is very concerning, especially considering the fact that if I could see it through the container, the employees should have also seen it. I'm not sure how long it had been sitting in the refrigerator, but this is unacceptable for a highly rated business. We have tried calling them to let them know and we haven't gotten an answer. I'm not sure if we will go back.
