I have rented a kayak or a paddleboard from Nomad Boardsports three times. First, what I like about it: The staff is friendly and the check-in/payment process was very quick and efficient. I have never had a problem getting a boat on the spot without reserving in advance. The rental price seems reasonable. The Lake is very nice, usually great sunsets, and a two-hour rental time is usually sufficient to leisurely paddle around either the Upper or Lower Lake. Nomad Boardsports is located right near Panga Bar & Grill which is a great place to get a casual meal before or after your paddle. What could be better: Parking especially on a weekend is terrible and good luck finding a spot. Carpool, plan ahead on driving around a lot to wait for someone to leave, or plan on walking several blocks. Second thing is I think Nomad could clean their boats a bit better...one that I rented had old gum around one of the handles.
Good price and nice equipment. The staff is always friendly. Never have to wait for the equipment to be pulled out. It’s there and ready to launch when you arrive.
Poor customer service. Boards available to rent online and visible at the camper. We literally had a young man run to our vehicle when we pulled in the lot and tell us they were completely booked. There were 6 parking spots available and i was online and ready to book our time slot. We have rented here for the last 3 years but will not be back. We will give our business to Koha Yoga and Paddle boards where they treat their customers good. However, the folks at Panga are absolutely awesome and have good customer service.
Always fantastic! Reserved exactly what we wanted online, arrived and was greeted by friendly staff in outdoor area. They had my rentals ready and the equipment was great! Will be back :
Great times! A little pricey but the boards were very nice!
Staff was incredibly rude to us. We had a pontoon for 6 people, the young boy checking us in did not like that we were 3 woman driving the pontoon and instead decided to quiz us on driving when we have had plenty of experience driving a pontoon in the past. In fact, I had worked on a cruise line for 3 years and know how to dock boats much larger than a pontoon let alone driving a pontoon. He constantly asked if we had a license or had been grandfathered in... we continued to explain that we were all over the date for needing a license. Even his other team members were telling him everything is fine but he did not agree until a man from our group walked up and signed the paper. I drove the entire boat ride with zero issues other than myself being insulted by this worker. Will never come here again and will certainly being spreading my poor experience around.
$10 launch fee for my kayak even though I rented a $440 pontoon boat. Parking lot disorganized and messy. Panga restaurant is just a bunch of kids with no training or common sense. Terrible customer service at both Nomad and Panga. Instead, launch your kayak or paddleboard at the dam which is on Sawyer Rd south of 94. Then go to Mazatlan Mexican in Delafield for a great margarita! 1.5 miles away
I was actually at the bar for a winter Carnival. It showed up with boardsport which is owned by Same people but only open in late spring. Fun place and good people if your lookin for a drink and some simple food and relaxation with the lake patrons..
Third time I've been there and they said they have no boards available, but you can book a spot online at that moment. Called them on it and they said that someone must have canceled at that same time. When you can physically see boards but they won't rent them out, makes it seems like a scam
Great spot to rent kayaks or SUPs with super easy access to the lake. The convenience of being next to Panga increases the value of this place as well. Enjoy some time on the lake and then finish at Panga for some food/drink while sitting outside.
