Was sent to pivot as part of a new-hire process. From the time I walked in the door the staff was pleasant and accommodating. The actual physical assessment was through and very effectively explained. Would HIGHLY recommend Pivot to anyone requiring their services.
Don’t be fooled by the location or age of the building because it’s the amazing therapists that matter. They are by far the best I have ever been to in the Hampton Roads Area and I’ve been many others over my 22 years here.
I've been going there for aqua therapy for a while now. I was very apprehensive about aqua therapy at first, but now its the highlight of my week. Steve the PT is very experienced and Jo the aqua therapist is very attentive, diligent and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
I went in for rehab after back surgery, and during the assessment, Steve discovered that my hip had extreme limitations. This caused him to reach out to the doctor suggesting I have an x-ray as he thought that my hip problem was highly advanced. I've been in pain for over 15-years and always thought that the pain in my leg and hip were from the back. Thy symptoms present in the same manner. Long story short, I need a hip-replacement - and without Steve, it could have taken years to discover! He and his team Kirsten, is amazing! did a great job of therapy aqua to strengthen my core for the back, but also provided some additional movement in the hip. I would 100% go back to them as would my doctor who said that he was an excellent Therapist. Thanks, Steve, for starting the ball rolling for my hip. Although I not overjoyed at another surgery, I am excited about the results that it can provide!
Steve, the owner, is very hands on in performing therapy and supervising his staff. All staff are very friendly and qualified for what they do. The warm therapy pool is the best therapy for my situation. Kirsten, the water therapist, really listens to her clients and adjusts therapy to fit their needs. I highly recommend this facility.
DO NOT go here if you have a workmans comp injury. Dr. Steve did not even believe my injury and even told the doctors on my FCE Functional Capacity Exam that I "did very little" when I went there and that I didn't try my best. This was my very first injury ever. I have been very athletic my entire life. So to be injured at such a young age was very disheartening, and to have someone who's supposed to be there for any kind of "therapy" treat you the way the Dr. there did made every thing so much worse. : Please save yourself from the anxiety and go to Pivot Physical Therapy. They treat you like an individual and focus on your specific injury. Doing so much better now that I've been with them. I have Sacroilitis and am almost back at 100%! Thank you, Pivot!
Dr Steve Schall, Maria, and the rest of his staff are the best!! They absolutely know what they are doing and really seem to care. Even while I was on heat pack, watching them interact with other patients was amazing
After consideration I am leaving this comment, I feel Steve is very knowledgeable. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the staff. If your gonna come here tell them you want to see Steve. He is worth dealing with the other B.S. of the staff. He will tell you the truth about your injury. That's at least how I feel now.
I agree with the previous review that Steve is great, but his staff are horrible. You can hear them gossip. Matt and Maria along with his other emplyees are very unprofessional. Hopefully, one day Steve will train his staff to be better employees. We do not pay to hear gossip. I thought when I left high school I wouldn't be subject to immature gossip. I somtimes wondered if steve just doesn't know his employees are doing this, or if he doesn't care. Hopefully, things will change.
I started going to the pool here for therapy and absolutely love the support I'm getting! I have been struggling with rheumatoid arthritis for nearly all of my 20's and needed help as I'm sensitive to medication and don't want to take immunosuppressants. The warmth of the pool and therapeutic exercise has done wonders for my joints. I feel it tremendously when I am cold, run, or do anything intense at a regular gym. I've also come in a lot for random shoulder and back pain and have been helped by massage, cupping, taping, and adjustments. Matt and Steve Schall take the time to listen to me, and understand what I'm struggling with, even without visual proof of my illness. I can't tell you how much that means to me, when most medical providers easily dismiss me and minimize my complaints, at least until labs are drawn. Thank you so much NPTC!!!!
