North Gate Farm

I have been at North Gate as a relative beginner, member of the IEA team, participant in the lesson program, and as a boarder. The lesson program made me a strong and determined rider. I now ride with the head trainer, Stacy Falco, who has improved my riding an enormous amount and has given me the ability to jump new heights. She also found me the horse of my dreams, who I now board there and is well taken care of.

I visited this farm with a colleague who is interested in buying a horse and boarding it in the Metrowest area. As a lifelong rider who has owned several horses, I came along to offer support and advice. We're both middle aged physicians and we appear far from threatening. When we arrived, the owner who had told my colleague to "come any morning" was not available. We were told by one of the stable staff that we could "look at the horses" while we waited for her. We did just that - strolled around looking into stalls and paddocks. As an experienced horse person, I knew not to touch any horses or offer them anything to eat. We just looked and talked about horse ownership. After about 15 minutes, we were accosted by an incredibly rude instructor who started screaming at us. She told us we were trespassing on private property and denied that anyone would have let us look around. She strongly insinuated that we were harming the horses. No amount of explanation about arrangements with the owner calmed her down or changed her hostile attitude. We offered to leave the premises as it was clear from this women's demeanor that this is not a farm my friend would ever wish to do business with. She followed us and continued to scream at us. It was the worst experience I've had on a horse farm in 30+ years. And this instructor was wearing an IEA jacket. I can only hope she treats the young people she works with with more respect than she treated us. I feel badly that my colleague's first experience with the equestrian world in Massachusetts was so negative. I've assured him that there are farms where clients and potential clients are treated with respect and where kindness and customer service count. He'll keep looking . . .

My daughter has been riding at North Gate Farm, and on their equestrian team, for over a year. She loves it! Warm and welcoming, yet well organized and professionally run at the same time. Riders of all ages are friendly, helpful, and respectful -- so nice to see across age groups. People can have a positive experience whether they are there for recreational or competitive riding -- and whether or not they lease or own/board a horse. (Many riders do not lease or own, and some do.) With enough experience, riders can also work as junior or senior counselors in the barn's summer camp -- which my daughter loves.The camp is well run and lots of fun as well.

North gate is a beautiful clean barn. I love it there the people there are soooo nice and helpful the staff always work with a smile on their face and they are so kind. I want to give a special thanks to Katie for taking me to my first show and being super nice to me and everyone also Pam because she's super nice and helpful and a great teacher just like Jenny another teacher at the barn she's always there to help if she's not teaching of course. But another great thing are the horses and ponies. They are awesome, calm, gentle, nice, and sweet you will have a great ride at this barn😄😄😄

North Gate Farm is the best farm I've ever seen. - Wonderful location with beautiful nature - Several big pastures for horses - VERY clean - VERY well organized - Staff is friendly and helpful; people are passionate about their work. Special thanks to Mario. His kind smile, help and support is highly appreciated. - Instructors are knowledgeable and highly skilled. Special thanks to Andrea, who discovered a whole new world for me! - The most important - horses come first. People of North Gate Farm take amazing care of horses, keeping them healthy and happy! Million thanks to you ALL! (including horses ;)
