I'm a disabled student and let me tell you: enrolling here was a disaster. I'm sure it's all fine and dandy for most other students, but if you have any special needs, expect to be treated like trash. Firstly, I was failed in a class that I had a B average in because I had an asthma attack the day of the final exam. One teacher allowed me to make this up (as is mandatory considering I had a medical excuse and I'm registered with student disability), and another male teacher (who made pretty crude comments about sexuality) decided he would fail to contact me with my final grade, and not even respond to my email. It took me months to get in touch with someone to realize I was completely failed.
I decided after this that this college wasn't for me and I tried to drop my classes. No one would allow me to drop all my classes at once. I had to go in every individual semester to drop the next 3 semesters worth. I paid out of pocket. No grant, no loan, nothing. Once when I tried to cancel classes, I was told it couldn't be done over the phone (blatant lie) and that someone would call me back with an appointment to cancel them. I waited for the call. I called back. No one answered. Almost like my number was blacklisted. My money was never returned.
I'm currently in the process of trying to drop the last semester I signed up for, and it's the same situation. I can't get my money back. I can't get anyone to answer the phone. I've been nothing but polite and patient, but it seems like they're just not interested in writing that check back to me. Sad.

Truly beautiful for a smaller sized campus. The Nature trail is very well maintained.

Some professors are 10/10 some are 1/10 and overall its a below average campus.
Please don't sign up for philosophy it was so boring. I'd rather smack my sack than go to that class.

I've had several experiences at Northeast State, some good, and some bad. For the most part the teachers have been extremely helpful. I have had to teachers that have gone above and beyond, while there were some who were awful.
Where Northeast State stands to improve is the administrative aspects, you get bounced around on the phone so much by people who seem annoyed by your questions. Latest example of this is that the "MyNortheast" web portal is down while summer classes start tomorrow so I cannot retrieve my class schedule. That is no big deal, I understand maintenance occurs. BUT, this does not warrant a snarky response to a question of when the expected return time of the site is.
Overall, I've had a few amazing educators at Northeast. PLEASE pick up your game on helping people understand the administrative aspects.

Like most places some good professors and some bad ones. The financial aid department is not the most helpful or organized. But overall a good community college.
