Northside Christian Academy

Northside Christian is a fantastic school! The leaders of the church work very hard and very long hours to make this school happen. The teachers work very hard and care deeply for the students salvation and education. Northside does not operate on stolen tax money like our failing public schools do. Public schools that do not allow God and Jesus in the door. I wish more churches would step up and create a private Christian School.

I recently presented my character building book, "Pocketful of Dreams" to the 3rd grade creative writing classes of Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Cruz. I was impressed by the emotional, educational and spiritual development of the kids They were engaging and asked good questions. They were well mannered and courteous. You could tell respected both of their teachers by their discipline and good behavior. Each one sat quietly as every single kid in that classroom participated. I left there feeling good about America's future. Northside Christian Academy is producing the next generation of high achievers and good citizens.

I've had the worst experience dealing with the receptionists and the admissions staff at the Hwy 378 location of this school. They are not responsive at all. After calling and following up with them several times, they finally get back to you. In my attempts to contact them regarding my child's enrollment status, the staff seemed as though they didn't care or even have the time of day to deal with me. I turned in my child's information in a neatly ORGANIZED folder. When I requested my folder back with my child's personal information, it was given back to me unorganized in an envelope!!! Definitely not the way it was given to them!!! I am so GLAD things worked out the way they did and my child will not be attending this school. I think it's a joke that they call themselves a CHRISTIAN academy because that is not what is projected when dealing with the people that work there. I hope the school is not a reflection of the church. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone.

DO you like surprise fees & charges? If so! This is the school for you. Their "payment portal" gives you two options to pay, either through a credit/debit or directly through routing. Either way you have to pay a penalty fee. Although its a small %, why is it mandatory to pay through a portal, but there are no options to avoid penalty, like paying with cash, or check? Let's not even get started on the things you'll have to pay for that are not included into tuition... uniforms (which run almost $100 just for one outfit, and by the way if you have a preschool aged child, you will be replacing these uniforms frequently because they let your child get so disgusting, filthy on the playground, right after a rainy day.), field trips, lunches are not included (and very expensive), if you're late on payment they slap you with a HUGE late fee, good luck recovering. Oh, did I mention, this summer, right before I finished paying this semesters tuition, I got slapped with a $500 parent work credit fee? That's right, if you don't come work for them for some bogus credit in the middle of the week on a work day to help pay off this fee, they sneak it on you during the summer. Good thing my kids aren't going back. Christian???? Not like any Christians I grew up around...they force prayer in inappropriate situations to prevent an upset parent from out bursting...for example when a parent calls to complain about a teacher, another parent, a student, or any situation ever....it is INAPPROPRIATE to end the phone call with a prayer where the staff starts off with..."Dear lord, help guide (your name here), through this troubling time...." When literally the only thing troubling is their audacity to refer to my complaint as a troubling time. You'll love their fundraisers too...remember when you were a kid..you would walk door to door and sell Christmas wrapping paper or cookies and you EARNED what you got as a reward? Nu uh, at THIS money hungry school, the fundraiser is this really awkward reward system, where depending on how much money the parent wishes to donate, the better the reward for the child. Then they make them participate in some weird bidding race, my child is not a pot belly pig at the fair. BOGUS. Good luck lower income families who would like for their child to enjoy the life of a private Christian school, IT SUCKS. Staff is hateful, the two ladies that sit at the front desk (especially the one with short brown hair) are ALWAYS up there running their mouth to someone, and a lot of the time, its gossip...about other parents. Hate to think what they say about me. I believe this school may have been started on a Christian foundation but has slowly lost its way, as they flash their ability to build a very expensive football field, and hire new teachers, and run new programs...but they FORGET who lines their pockets. They hardly treat the parents like paying customers, and more like people who are just lucky to be there. Also, don't go in as a single parent or engaged, because they want to interview both parents, even if the second parent isn't in the picture. If you child has the slightest behavior flaw, like for example likes to blink out of turn, I suggest you look elsewhere. I'm sure it's no surprise that the science department is very briefly scanned over. Worst program for small child. Period.

Too many favorites. STOP FAVORING YOUR KIDS!!!! But still a great school
