NY City Blinds

I had posted a 1 star review as my initial experience with one of the sales representatives was sub par- I am fully retracting this 1 star review- Mr. Guy Haber- the CEO of the company is innovative and is a pleasure to work with. The company is true to their words and aim for customer satisfaction. New better fitting blinds are being installed in an expedited fashion. We have 2 more windows to be fitted for solar/light blocking blinds and I will definitely move forward with NY city blinds with utmost confidence. Anasuya Vasudevan

Pros: products seemed to be of acceptable manufacturing quality in terms of construction and fabric though they do not fit the windows and do not otherwise serve the intended purpose Cons: does not work as advertised; very bad value; company does not honor its warrantees; zero customer service We bought automatic black-out blinds when we remodeled a West Village condo. We did not occupy the condo for some time while the remodeling was being done, and when we finally did we were unpleasantly surprised to find that the blinds did not fit the windows. With the blinds down, they left a substantial gap of about 5” that was left uncovered on either side of the blinds. With so much of the windows left uncovered by the “dark-out blinds” so much light comes in that they are useless for the purpose.we now have to use towels to cover the windows, after paying thousands of dollars for the new blinds! It is obvious that NY City Blinds made a serious mistake when they measured the windows as part of their custom job, and combined this with a terrible installation. To our surprise they have consistently refused to do anything, not even coming back to look at their installation. We have good automatic black-out blinds — i.e. blinds that fit and are properly installed and that block out the light — in other units in Manhattan and in our other homes elsewhere, and this is the only time we have had such a problem. When we contacted NY City Blinds to address the issue, they just claimed everything they did was adequate and refused to even come out and look at the job or do offer any kind of fix. No reliable company would take thousands of dollars to slap inadequate products on with a low quality installation, but apparently this fits the standards of NY City Blinds. We are now faced with a choice between finding someone else to fix the problem and forgetting about the thousands we wasted with NY City Blinds, or filing a small claims suit to recover from this company that did such a poor job and refuses to stand behind its warrantee. We suggested looking elsewhere when ordering blinds. We certainly will.

We used Nycity blinds for our new office space in midtown. We are on the ground floor level and need some privacy but still wants the light coming in to the room. Guy came for consultation and suggested to install top down bottom up shades. Great idea! Installation was very fast and professional installers. Highly recommended. 5 Stars for Nycity blinds

Best possible experience! Installed set of blinds throughout the apartment with electric system. Proffesional reliable and transparent all the way through. Cannot recommend these guys enough.

I moved to a new apartment in Midtown East a few months ago, and needed to replace the blinds with black out shades. After reading great reviews, I decided to go with NY City Blinds and my experience was just as great! From the first call, through the consultation meeting with Tom, he was super helpful in showing me my options and choosing the best shade for me. In just couple of weeks Avi and Ben came to install the shades, and they were true professionals and so sweet! The installation went so smoothly, and I love my new black out shades. NY City Blinds is fantastic. They are highly responsive, able to evaluate your windows for potential shades promptly and able to accommodate just about any size and desired style. They are also transparent about their pricing and the timeline for receiving and installing the shades. I have used NY City Blinds on two occasions in New York having moved to different apartments on both such occasions and have been highly satisfied with the work product. Their installation staff are also very professional and efficient. I happily recommend them to my friends in New York and elsewhere.

Highly recommend! They had the best prices of the places I looked on the UES, they came to install the blinds within the time promised and the installation guys were very professional. We got the motorized black-out blinds in all our rooms and they’re really quiet and truly black out most of the sun. We also paid for the phone app to control the blinds from our phone. Our apt is big so the phone app doesn’t work well in all the rooms and when I told Tom he immediately ordered us a “repeater” hub free of charge so it would work in all the rooms. These guys are amazing!

NY City Blinds East side location has excellent repair services. They accommodated my needs quickly and with care. I look forward to purchasing window treatments from them in the future.
