It was fun revisiting the place where my grandfather used to pick-up our groceries. A couple of the vendors are still there but I saw that it was not as busy like the old days. I enjoyed the fresh assortment of fresh fish and produce. Also, they had various stalls which offered a variety of roasted meats. Fong’s Meat Market is the one I usually purchase from.
Yummy food. Take your time. Try everything.
A lot of fresh fruit and veggies on sale, and a lot of other asian goods
Another chaotic parking area. Was able to pickup our favorite items from stall #27 "Da Best"
For an open air market its amazing how well maintained and clean a place could be. The fruits and vegetables are as freshest can be and the store always looks clean and sanitized. I purchased some fruits their and they tasted as good as they looked. I was amazed at the work that is put into this place. All I can say is keep up the good work!
What's not to love about a fresh market that makes your mouth water. Huge selection of local fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood. Can be overwhelming. I found its very helpful for me when I actually do meal planning in advance so I am sure to buy things I need and will use, quite a concept that! Love to go shopping in Chinatown.
The exoctic beauty of the asian women is mind boggling but had gone there for chicken. I had hired a tour guide. Someone was born there to show me the spots in Chinatown. He did. But got hungry and ask him to take me to the best place for barbecue chicken. He showed me that place. I ordered a half-chicken. He ordered also. We paid and left. I got to the nearest park, found me a shady spot and opened the container. I didn't believe it. I told my guide 'i don't eat raw and bleeding meat'. He said, I though you knew they don't sell burnt meat. I said now you tell me. But my memory of the place is pleasant anyway.
I love the pork at this spot, and everytime I visit i feel like I'm stepping into a sliver of a back street market in Vietnam, China, or the Philippines. The market area is much smaller than those is Asia but the feeling and vibe is there. Overlook the homeless and enjoy.
Old school open air “wet market”...one of the last “modern” turn of last century institutions still in operation.
This market located in China Town has a variety of Asian products some in fact imported all the way from the orient, almost anything you would eat or use is located within the 6 block radius of this cultural center, many of the products layed right outside so that you may see if it's what you're looking for, it is a site to see and add uniquely to your traveling experiences.
