Nice folk. Good food. Fair prices for the area. Wish I had tried their chicken salad. Wil do next visit.
We enjoyed our food. My Reuben was good. The chicken salad sandwich was too. The tomato soup was somewhat disappointing. Service was spotty as they tried to deliver our order to the wrong table.Food: 4/5
Well they are know for their amazing cracker variety and it does give a different flavor to every bite of the delicious chicken salad. The chicken salad has great flavor combined with juicy grapes, no nuts. The salad option is not heavy and they load you up! Their dressing has an olive/vinegar taste that really stands out, normally I can't taste it in other dressings, absolutely tasty!
If you go make sure you order the cheese and fruit plate with a side of chicken salad! The best!!!!!. Service is great and friendly.Food: 5/5
If you want to live your 'Best Birmingham/Homewood Life Now", then I highly recommend the Chicken Salad and Fruit Plate at O'Carr's. The Chicken Salad is a little heavy on the dill, but it is still absolutely delicious. Try it! Also, get a cookie from Savage's and coffee from O'Henry's while you're down there.
Long established dinner that is good for hot or cold sandwiches salads and the best milkshake you could ask for. Open Monday thru Friday till 3 PM.
Had gazpacho and a chicken salad sandwich. Good eats. A little pricey, but evidently everything in Homewood is.
Good lunch spot with deli. Very established chicken salad place.
O'Carr's did the groom's cakes for our wedding, and they were perfect. Delivered right on time 4:30, between the ceremony and the start of the reception, and everyone raved about the cheesecakes. They may have been more popular than the actual wedding cake! The staff were incredible, the cakes were amazing, and I can't wait to go back for lunch at some point! I had never been to O'Carr's before we ordered our cheesecakes from them, but my husband and his family have been going for decades.
Chicken salad at its finest! --- I came to eat here with my girlfriend back last month. It was the worst service I have ever had here, but not the first. This is not a surprise to me! The atmosphere of the deli has changed a lot in the past few years. We were seated in the last back corner booth. The family next to us were treated with great service, but we were overlooked every time -even to get drink refills. The food was great and always has been! I guess we just didn't have on our fancy clothes like everyone else, and that is what determines the service you receive. *It is hard to convince a person that has never experienced O'Carrs that it is great, especially when they think the overall experience was lacking. Food is still good, but we will find another place to go.
