Place is super nice and very reasonably priced. Tons of equipment available for use. Tons of options for hitting. Clarence owner is extremely friendly and has a ton of baseball knowledge. Unfortunately im from NY or this would be my goto spot atleast 4 days a week. Cant wait to get back to Oaks and put in some work in the cages. Highly, highly recomend!!!
Been awesome, coach Clarence has been great!!!!My son Rj loves coach! Most important thing is improvement both of my kids softball n tee ball, have improved so much working with coach. You will see results, it's about improving and getting better.
I've been going to Oaks Batter Up since it opened on Yale St. The facility is a great addition to the neighborhood. It has multiple cages for both baseball and softball and a mound for pitching. My son plays baseball and it is a great place for him to get some swings in and throw a bullpen session. I've seen a lot of baseball and softball teams use this facility. They also have a hitting club that meets on Monday's and have started up a speed and agility course this summer. You can also get private hitting lessons as well.
Pretty cool place. Was a while since I batted and owner came out of his office to let me know what I was doing wrong. Soon as he told me what I was doing wrong all those balls would of been out of the park. You should call ahead to see if there's people who have the cages rented before going and showing up to a full house.
I purchased a deluxe stadium chair from these guys on Amazon a little over a year ago. My wife uses it for our daughters swim meets. The seat back slipped off a week or so ago, and after explaining my situation, Clarence took care of us. Any time I need any sporting goods in the future, these guys will be first on my list. Thanks Batter Up Oaks!
I've been here a couple of times now, and for baseball heads, its a good place to go take a few cuts. Their website didn't provide a lot of information regarding pricing in the batting cages...its just as easy to just call, but you can get 20 pitches for 1.25, or for around 45/hr, you can rent a cage. You can scale that down to any time frame you want. They have two cages that have machines with a throwing arm, and another two or three with wheel-based machines. Ownership is pretty friendly and if you time it right, it's not too crowded. Unfortunately, they're open only from like 4-9 on weeknights, thus making the first two hours of their being open a problem sometimes, since traffic is so thick in that area of 290. Finally, despite what they say about times, sometimes they open a little early if you want to reserve a cage for a time when they aren't open, so that's kinda nice. In short, it's a good place to take a few hacks, but I'd call first and make sure everything's in order.
DBat is state of the art, but it's in BFE and often overrun with kids, and since the cages there aren't reservable, you have to sit around and wait your turn. Oaks kind of feels like an old boxing gym. You have to feed your own balls for slow pitch softball, at least, but cage reservations are reasonably priced and easy to schedule.
Very small and junky. I thought i was in sanford and sons. The owner is rude and unprofessional like fred sanford as well. They have poles that support roof in the batting cages. Several hard hit balls ricocheted off of it and came back towards batter. Very unsafe. Tried to talk to owner and he got very loud and stupid acting. First and last time going there
One of the best batting cages in Houston. I say this because the owner come out and adjust the machine to your liking before each session and that's what I want in a batting cage machines that work.
The owner is a great man! Helped out a bunch and gave us extra time because we had help us with equipment! He even offered us water because it was way to hot. I will continue to practice here!
