I'm sorry to hear all these problems people have posted here. I've never had a bad experience here. I adopted my Ivy 2 yrs ago during a free adoption event. Not only did I hit the jackpot with her, everyone that has met her thinks so, too. She's happy, healthy and absolutely gorgeous! The employees were friendly and helpful. I, too, had her at the vet within 2 days, but that's just what I do with a new pet. I want my vet to meet them and give me her assessment of their health. Whenever I decide to adopt another dog, this will be my first stop.
I got a dog yesterday and she is so sweet. I was glad to see it was air conditioned in there. I urge you to go in and get a dog there are so many and they all want a home. I got my dog for free and everyone in there was really nice they truly want these dogs to be adopted. The girl that checked me out was nice she informed me the dog was sick and gave me meds. I gave her a bath and named her Iris even though she is sick ,had babies, been in there since 6/22. I still wanted her people have to understand these are stray dogs, abused animals, and each one has a story. They are truly overwhelmed here and trying the best they can to hold the fort down. I would come here again just to save another life and add to my pack .
Horrible place to take a stray animal. We Dropped him off, they did a horrific job of neutering it, and then clipped its ear. They Dropped it back off in the apartments less than a day later, with no time to recover. Now we have a Bloody and whimpering animal that we never should have taken him here. Its the most friendly stray I have ever seen, comes up rolls over, and very playful even pushing him away from you doesn’t even upset it. They claimed it’s feral which is very unlikely. It even gets along with the cat of our own. We cannot take in another car sadly and we trusted this place to actually care about the welfare of this animal. Considering the name. Horrible place is all I have to say
I’ve dealt w the occasional grumpy employee there, but for the most part and especially lately, they’ve all been super kind and helpful. they are short staffed so it’s definitely a struggle up there. go early if you wanna beat the line. adopted my baby panda here and the process has been great.
$25 Euthanasia services. We recently utilized this service for our 12 year old fur baby. The care provided to us, and our beloved pet we took her body home for burial - amazing! You could she the care they took with her, lovingly swaddled in a blanket with her front paws gently placed together… it means so much to my family and I, words are not enough. Truly, we’re still grieving but the way this organization and their staff helped us - we are very grateful.
Overcrowded and understaffed, but that's not the facility's fault. The employees are nice, but clearly short on time, so their conversations seemed rushed. All in all, doing their best and a good place to adopt a dog. Definitely smells though. Just moved to the area and got a dog a couple weeks ago. Took longer than I'd like, but that happens. Not the made up "we waited hours" stories on here. All of the reviews about adopting a dog seem to be good. All of the one star reviews are from people dropping off strays and feeling insulted by not getting special treatment for a pet that's not even their own. One even admitted to being threatened with a police call after less than five minutes and expects us to believe that the staff was rude. If someone says they'll call the cops in that short a time, you were obviously the problem, lady. Staff was never rude to us, just didn't have time for small talk.
Got a cat with bad eye was told some day it would have to be removed. Other then that cat was supposed to be healthy. Took her home had her half a day then it started the sneezing, coughing, drinking a lot of water and sleeping. Few days later cat was worse, rushed her to vet she had kennel cough. A week later rushed her back to vet this time she had to stay for two weeks. Took her and medicine home. Again got worse not better. Went to another vet gave me two weeks of medication didn't do any good so back to vets this time one week of medication. Well by now all of you probably figured it out now she has flp Had to put her to sleep. It about killed me because I wanted her so bad. This was a free cat from shelter. It cost me a arm and leg plus my friend threw in some money and all we got was a dead cat.
A neighbor found a loose dog today so we took him to animal control. The young woman at the front desk was patient and pleasant despite how heartbreaking much of her work must be. The best possible outcome, the dog was chipped and had been adopted from them so they had contact information. The owner was coming later today to get the dog.
I found the perfect companion here around 2006. Today my friend Jackson passed away. I have to give credit to this shelter for pairing us together. I am eternally grateful. There are so many random business I've visited in my life, of which Ive never given any consideration, this place has regularly crossed my mind as a service provider whom changed my life forever. Thank you, sincerely, Jonathan
Chaotic place but they get so many intakes a day it’s hard to keep up Got my little girl from here. Was planning on just fostering but fell in love!! She is the sweetest. Dogs are so different once they are out of that scary shelter environment so always give them a chance #Adoptdontshop!!!!
