I live down the road from the green belt, it's a beautiful run early ams. There isn't restrooms or playgrounds or a "designated" picnic area/tables but having a picnic isn't out of the ordinary here... Also, if you've a dog, big small average hairy, hairless, quiet or loud I've seen em in all shapes and sizes. Personally, I like to bring my cat down here on occasion and take him for a walk. Don't laugh in the face of diversity.
I take the E. McDowell bus west to the bike path which is approximately 48th street. Get off at the 48Th street stop. I head up 48th street . until I get to Virginia Ave. I cross there. I ride in my power wheelchair up towards Thomas Rd. My friend Gary lives & works at The Country Manor. An assisted living community. I enter through a locked gate. He works the grounds Cooks cleans those other repairs plumbing roofing Plus he's a drummer and he has his own room on the property. It's a neat place as long as you stay sober the owner Mary will let you stay there for free. But as a rule most of the people there pay as patients. They're on medication for different diagnosis. There's a lot of veterans older guys is only one woman is like 15 men that live there. It's a very neat building and a large grounds. He maintains the whole facility, they just hired a new guy to help cook. And they serve predominantly vegan meals because the owner Mary is a vegetarian it's one of three facilities she has in the state of Arizona that takes care of the mentally ill people that have nowhere else to go. Some of the veterans are in their nineties it's a beautiful place 2815 North 48th Street Phoenix Arizona 85008. I visit for approximately an hour then I cross back over 48th Street head down the bike path back down to McDowell and take the McDowell bus East back to Scottsdale where I live. It's the bike path as many just to cut through but you can jog on it you can ride bikes you can skate and push your kids in carriages there's dogs on leeches some people sit on the benches and have a snack it mainly runs between McDowell and Thomas and one whole side of the street 48th Street. A lot of people exercise there by jogging through it. Great place City maintains I'm sure.Mostly grass and some benches asphalt path. Great place to bring your dog for exercise .or yourself. Some people jog it some people walk it some people skate it some people just use it as a cut thru like me. Some of the trees provide shade but overall it's not tremendously shady on a hot summer day. And there is no vendors pretty much that I've seen you never so you have to bring your own beverages snacks and clean up after yourself. There are no stores on it there's no one soliciting you you could bring a book and sit on the bench and read or on the grass on a blanket with somebody for lunch or bring your doggy and throw a stick and on so the dog can chase the stick as long as he's on a leash. And you're not far from a circle k or a 7-Eleven if you want to get snacks or drinks.
Great green belt running along 48th St. Wonderful place to walk a dog or take a jog
No place to park. Pleasant sidewalk walk. Mostly a long lawn and a sidewalk. Traffic light on 48th st. Narrow. No restroom or play area. Very clean. 01/15/22 weekend aternoon almost no visitors. Residential area with Thomas Rd on the south side. A few people walking with and without dogs.
Nice looking winding walkway. I like to take my dogs here fairly often
Great place to walk, jog or to ride a bike.
Great for walking dogs, riding bikes, or just a simple walk. Great scenery and lovely environment.
My fiance and I walk this path nearly every day when the heat breaks. There are multiple Pokemon stops and gyms along the canal path and it leads up to the shopping plaza with a handful of pleasant shops with even a Rita's italian ice & custard. During the day you get a beautiful view of the mountain to the north. The area is well maintained.
Great place to walk and to take your pets. You get a nice view of camelback mountain. The park is really clean. It runs on 48th st, from McDowell to Indian School. I enjoy walking on a nice day people are always friendly on the Thomas to Indian School side people always smile and greet you and it makes my walk enjoyable. Very good place to run or walk if you want to measure how much you walk or run.
Great place to walk the dog. Very peaceful atmosphere.
