We went there looking for a corkscrew on a Sunday night but they were already closed. The gentleman working opened the door for us anyways and helped us find what we needed, even finding a cheaper option! We chatted for a few minutes about sports and all around a great experience and not just a transaction. Support small businesses!
We live two blocks away, and Pfeiffer's is great! If you consider how much your time is worth, paying a little more to save an hour trip to Home Depot makes sense! that said, I have had maybe a dozen or so keys cut at Pfeiffer's over the years. I'd give them about a 20% failure rate. I suspect they aren't seating the original keys far enough in as the teeth look right, just slightly shifted towards the tip. They are awesome about recutting the keys that I've brought back, but now we're talking a waste of my time.
This is not a hipster bar, as we had first thought from afar. The staff here is super helpful, I came to get keys made and I was in and out in under ten minutes, very different from my home depot experiences. I will definitely come back for hardware related purchases.
Small, but fully stocked local store. Ideal for when you need a specific item quickly. Unlike ACE Hardware which seems to stock homey items, this store has more of a bent towards the dyi-er / contractor who is in the middle of a project but needs something to get the job done and doesn't want to have to traipse to the store across town.
I live several blocks away and have Consisutely been able to rely on Mount Plesant Hardware for everything from replacing switches to tools in prep. for snow. If u are looking for patio furniture, 30 types of lawn mowers, etc. ...I urge you consider that this is a 'NEIGHBORHOOD' hardware store. Not Ace, not Costco, just to be clear. Staff has always been incredibly helpful, if u ask - I appreciate that as I hate being hassled and followed by overly zealous sales folks at conventional chain stores. They know their business here, and that's all that matters!
Better prices and quality products than you will find at the godawful Bed, Bath and Beyond. A nice selection of items for such a small store, ranging from nuts and bolts, to butcher block mineral oil, to brooms made of wood not plastic.
Old School is a great name fo this place. They have great personal service and it is a pleasure to stop by to pickup material for our small household projects. Truly a neighborhood hardware store.
Can be pricey on certain items, but overall decently priced. The staff is very helpful and they have everything you'd need from a local hardware shop.
Excellent service, super friendly staff. Always loving going into the small shops over big box and Old School does not disappoint.
Went in with a broken key. Xavier wasn't sure it could be copied but had a go at it and he copied it successfully. Back in my home rather than out in the cold in less than 5 minutes after key broke.
