Yesterday was my first time at Olexa’s and the experience was great. Our waitress was very helpful with her recommendations for a first-timer. She recommended the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with a side salad. It was delicious and came out quickly given there was a full house at lunchtime. We also had a slice of the quiche of the day which was also delicious. By the end of my meal, I was very full but of course, there’s always room for dessert. She raved about the cake and it did not disappoint. I had a slice of the warm buttercream cake. It was so good!! I’ve been raving about Olexa’s since yesterday and will return with family and friends.
Olexa's is one of my favorite places for lunch and a great place to bring my clients. I have had nearly everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I love the seafood crepes, quiche of the day, bread pudding in the winter, and any of their cakes. Just delicious!
Diane Olexa & her team were so wonderful for our wedding cake! They arrived to the venue earlier than expected and decorated our already beautiful cake with real flowers that matched our greenery/white theme! We are so thankful to them for being a part of making our big day so great! There was an accidental mix up with a part of the cake but Diane more than made up for it after the fact and the cake was still just as delicious the way it was made! Thank you so much!
Best meal we had in Birmingham! Chicken crepes were most delicious. And of course, the cake is magnificent!Food: 5/5
Pros: Cute little cafe in a foo foo part of town. Very friendly staff with average bistro type food. Southwest salad was great with good flavoring. Cons: Water on the tap was heavy on the chlorine taste. My wife got a slice of vanilla creme cake which was fine, but plain. We both tasted and said at the same time "Walmart". The frosting was warm, which was weird. Conclusion: It was designed for the type of crowd that that frequent the area which is older, upscale residents with more style over substance. Go once.
I recently stopped in for lunch on a Friday. I'd never been but both the posted and word of mouth reviews were so good I had to try it for myself. I was not disappointed. They were crowded with several parties celebrating events but I was seated quickly. The Shrimp and Lobstertini appetizer was fresh and light and just the perfect portion. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque was top notch. And then I finished with a slice of French Vanilla cake. The bakery was busy with customers picking up cakes, cupcakes, etc. And I can see why. And as busy as they were the service never suffered. I'll definitely be back. And I'll bring friends. Just so good.
If you are in the Birmingham area, be sure to eat at Olexa's! And definitely order the vanilla butter cream cake! Food: 5/5
The food is delicious and ambiance is super cool as if you were on streets. They have delicious deserts, tasty sandwiches n salads. I have ordered Chicken and Pesto Provolone Panini with Salad, it was tasty.
I’ve ordered several cakes over the years for birthdays and celebrations and I’ve never been disappointed. Their cakes are delicious, moist, and my friends/family always rave about how beautiful and yummy they are. Highly recommend!!!
Delicious lunch with happy atmosphere. Busy place but never rushed us. Nice wait staff.
