I spent several seasons at Olympia as an outdoor ed staff member during breaks from university. It was an incredible chapter of my life and taught me so many things, especially how to step out of my comfort zone. Olympia has a strong training program for staff and showed me how to encourage kids to also step into their learning zone.
My favourite memory is being on the lake with a teenage camper who was a recent Canadian immigrant. She had grown up in a country where no one knows how to swim. As a result, death by drowning was a common occurrence in her country and people in her community learned to associate bodies of water with extreme danger. At the beginning of her stay at Olympia, she wouldn’t even go close to the lake, but after tackling some other land challenges (like the low ropes and high ropes courses) with success, she was ready to take on the lake together in a canoe with me. We wore life jackets of course, and afterward she was so grateful for the experience.
Olympia is not known for 5 star food or accommodations (is any camp?). It’s about the experience and the positive emotion you can gain from spending time challenging yourself in a beautiful outdoor setting. Of course there are going to be bugs, and if you’re lucky you might see some amazing wildlife too...

This camp experience is unrivalled. Strangers become life long friends and staff/coaches aim to teach more than just sports. At Olympia, you learn how to overcome challenges and become the best version of yourself by feeling 100% safe and comfortable to be yourself. Would 10/10 recommend for any student, athlete, teenager or someone looking for a fun, new opportunity.

Incredible place with amazing facilities staff and programs. They actually bring specialty coaches from around the world to run the summer sports leadership arts and Outdoor recreation programs as well as provide Olympia trained counsellors to assist in the coaching process. I know this camp is great because it is celebrating its 45th year in operation. Olympias mission statement is " To provide a world class, positive, upbeat, safe emotionally and physical environment that provides the best opportunity to grow and develop "

Was a camper here for many, many years and loved every minute! Great facilities, fun activities, and well-trained staff! Disregard the inappropriate/crude reviews. They're obviously from a group of a few kids who think its funny...abuse of the review system. Only love for Olympia and I would recommend to anyone!

As someone who was both a camper and staff I can say that this was the best camp experience I ever had. Staff were welcoming enthusiastic and dedicated and programming was very well done! I recommend this camp to anyone who is looking to have an incredible camp experience!
