Online Trading Academy Milwaukee

Update 1/29/2023 It has been just over 3 years since taking OTA's Core Strategy and Options trading classes. The instructors for both were very good and I would still give those two individuals 5 stars on their own. However, OTA asks new students for reviews directly after they take their first class. I didn't wait long to post that original review but I felt that reviews would be more legitimate if they were written after experiencing success or failure with the OTA method. How is one to know the value of an education before it is put into practice? That said, I regret having given 5 stars to OTA equipped with only book smart learning and before I had any practical experience using their methods. 1 to 3 years later is when a review should be given, and thus my follow-up. Here are my negatives: 1. The PRICE. For Core Strategy and Options trading, we paid somewhere around $22,000. Because we opted for Options over the Stock trading class we had to pay an additional $1500 to use CLIK for options. ---- I am using the TASTYWORKS charts which look and act exactly like CLIK. I paid nothing to use the charts. It's all live. 2. PROMISES: We were promised that CLIK would connect directly to our Tastyworks broker. We were promised that we soon could place trades–with all of our CLIK parameters–directly from CLIK to the broker. ---- It's been 3 years and this has never happened. It was one of the hottest sales points of the OTA sales pitch. 3. Ongoing classes: Live classrooms became obsolete during the pandemic, which I understand. However, they are now permanently obsolete in most training stations. In fact, our Milwaukee unit is closed now. Online classes are taught by the same instructors—over and over—with huge attendances. The live classrooms offered different instructors with small class sizes, affording students the chance to ask questions and receive individual instruction. The online classes are redundant and definitely not worth the money we paid. 4. XLTs treat us as beginners forever. Strategies teach how to get INTO a trade. However, not much credence is given to managing the trade. Instead, a stop-loss is thrown on and it's 'good to go'. There are so many ways to manage a trade. OTA teaches a 'one size fits all' approach. Learning pretty much stops at that because they don't teach based on the individual situations we incur in the trading environment. They have students pull out the 'worksheet' and analyze from there. At some point the worksheet isn't relevant we can do the math & analyze without it after some experience. OTA XLTs don't cater to anyone past the very basic beginner stage. You can pay more for specialty classes, but why? ----TASTYWORKS offers ongoing live training for free. Instructors trade and manage live—every day—. My options vocabulary and trading efficiency has improved and moved forward significantly thanks to Tastyworks. Original Review OTA offers students amazing opportunities to learn trading core strategies and in depth continuing education. Additionally, the instructors, XLTs, articles, and ongoing continuing education for all asset classes is top notch. My husband and I love the diversity that trading Options gives us. Before December 2019 I had no experience with Options. I've taken several classes with different instructors and trade along with XLTs. My learning curve has improved significantly because of OTA. OTA provides an education 'hub' through their website which helps students to stay focused on what they need to know and learn versus floundering all over the web searching. My husband is profitable in a live trading environment and though I haven't gone live yet, I have made some nice profits in CLIK simulator mode. I attribute our success to OTA ~ we are so new at this so I look forward to continued learning and success! If you are thinking of becoming an OTA member, I encourage you! OTA Milwaukee is a family! The Staff and instructors are exceptional! They have given me all the tools I need to be successful and at whatever level I want to be at too, be that long term or short investments. They can teach you to be a professional Day trader or just manage your own retirement accounts. You get to decide, they will tailor a plan that fits your family it is incredible. As an instructor for OTA, Milwaukee is hands down my favorite place to teach! The staff is outstanding and truly care about the success of each and every student. Student support is also superlative in Milwaukee, which is critical to the continued success of students on their path to becoming professional traders. Time and money well spent for this traveling student from CA. Leaving Sunny CA and flip flops behind to attend a 5 day OTA course in COLD/ SNOWY Milwaukee in mid March! Well, it turns out I have had one of my best experiences so far. Rick and his staff are amazingly helpful and here’s the best part, Rick not only built an OTA center but a community called “peer -to - peer” students helping students. I was dumbfounded by the generosity of advance students volunteering their precious time to assist us “ NEWBIES” as we were named by our Super Fabulous instructor to advance our learning curve. Took an intro class at the Online Trading Academy in Milwaukee. What a great program and what a knowledgeable group of instructors. I’m such a novice when it comes to trading, but that’s what they are there for. Would you be in the career you are in today without education and training. Then add experience and success........ I can’t wait to learn more from this reputable team. I’m a nurse educator and committed to lifelong learning. This is a new and exciting direction. If you are interested in learning more about trading and investing, Online Trading Academy is definitely the perfect place to get started.

Having been a student at OTA in Germantown for 3 years I can safely say that the education has been excellent and the staff has been exceptional. They genuinely want you to succeed, and will pull out all stops to help. The best tool you have in trading is education, without it you are at the mercy of the pros. With it, you trade with the pros, not against them. Education is continuous and the lifetime retake program demonstrates the commitment to my success. Thanks Scott, Rick, Jason, and Rachel!

I started my OTA training 2 years ago at the Germantown location and the staff is exceptional. They are dedicated to giving each student the tools and support necessary to succeed. The OTA in Milwaukee is fantastic. As an instructor, I really enjoyed my experience. The class participants were engaged, committed and very gracious toward each other. Rachel and Rick keep the atmosphere at the center warm and friendly.

The education at Online Trading Academy is excellent and instills confidence to enter the trading world. There is classroom as well as endless online resources to support you. Eric and Rick guide you and help set up a program that fits your needs. Tom Jenkins is a first-rate instructor for my initial training and I am looking forward to classes in futures and options.
