Oregon Education Association

Oregon Education Association represents more than 44,000 teachers and education support professionals. It is affiliated with National Education Association. The member-run organization actively works to create schools Oregon students deserve through local affiliate bargaining with districts over everything from wages to workload. By speaking together with a strong, collective voice members are able to maintain their standards, defend their profession, and protect the learning environment for students, which are represented in contracts for professional educators and substitutes. OEA also organizes around issues of interest to members through its board and committee meetings in preparation for the annual Representative Assembly in April, and an active political action committee. Through its affiliates it offers members liability insurance, home and car insurance, membership discounts, meetings with legislators, and more. The organization is governed by resolutions that represent member beliefs and positions on important issues of the day. Financial resources are provided exclusively for OEA members.

I've only attended meetings for educators and affiliates here, but they've been very accomodating.
