Story

OKHC started as a small solo practice and has slowly grown into one of the largest Nephrology practices in the Portland area. Back in the fall of 2006, Dr. Firas Khoury joined as a solo Nephrologist. He started by working in the Tigard/Newberg areas focusing on excellent care of his Nephrology patients. Thanks to his work, by the summer of 2010, Dr. Khoury was able to bring Dr. Ryan Griffiths onboard. Dr. Griffiths joined the Nephrology practice out of his Fellowship program from OSHU and they began working together to expand their presence in the market, while continuing to strive for excellence in patient care with improved outcomes.

Fast forward three years to 2013, and OKHC had doubled in size with the addition of both Dr. Fareha Nawaz and Dr. Sonia Bynum. During this growth period, OKHC formally expanded into the McMinnville community.

Then, in the fall of 2014, OKHC further expanded into the busy Portland market when Portland Hypertension & Nephrology (PHN) joined OKHC, expanding the existing group with the addition of Dr. Sallie Israelit and Dr. Hongshi Xu. Additionally, OKHC also added Dr. Shweta Patel, who had recently graduated from her Fellowship program.

OKHC is not slowing down and continues to grow in offering kidney care in the greater Portland area with the addition of multiple physicians and advanced practitioners in 2016. The most recent additions to the team include Dr. Supriya Khan, Dr. Amy Hackett, Geoff Xiao, Physician Assistant, Creagh Schoen, Nurse Practitioner and Jessica Pettit, Physician Assistant.

OKHC currently has three main offices (Portland, Tigard & McMinnville) and six satellite offices – allowing our team to attend to patients and their needs in a number of additional local communities. The team at OKHC is thankful to be part of such amazing communities. OKHC Nephrologists and teammates in Portland, McMinnville, and Tigard are dedicated to provide high quality, compassionate kidney care with service excellence to our patients and to the communities we serve. Welcome to our family.
