First of all, lunch under $8 downtown is a great find. Two entrees and rice or noodles, decent portions. I got the Honey Glazed Chicken and the Chicken and Green Beans, both were delicious. Really flavorful and quality ingredients. Very nice people too. I'll be going back.
When you're walking through the skyway, this place is easy to miss. When you try the food here, it'll be hard to remember other Chinese food establishments even exist. If you want good flavorful Hong Kong style soul food, this is the place to go. Prices are great while the portions are plentiful. Great, concise menu that still offers plenty of options. There is also happy hour pricing before and after the lunch hour rush. These folks are usually only open for lunch, so make sure your mid day stop is on the Orient Express.
Glad I found it! Fantastic food, good price. Sought this out due to good reviews and was not disappointed. More than Chinese, this small counter serves dishes with influence all over Asia. The tastes are authentic, the quality is high and the already-acceptable prices are lower off-peak. If I lived in MSP, I'd eat here all the time. Solid 5-stars. PS: you won't regret upgrading your rice to noodles. Seriously fantastic.
The Roast Duck, Roast Pork and Crispy Pork are outstanding. Very authentic. I used to live in Hong Kong and it is just the same as I remember when I had it there. Would highly recommend if you are looking for traditional authentic Chinese Cuisine. You need to check out this restaurant. I am very picky about my Duck and this is excellent.
To be honest I always passed by Orient Express because of the name and signage. However, craving Chinese food, I came in and I was missing a Downtown gem! The food is all great, inexpensive and with good portions. The bbq pork is lovely. This is definitely a gem in the skyway, so take a trip out.
I love the food! Fresh and the bbq pork is amazing! Makes me wonder if I’m at the Butcher & the Boar, it is truly that good! I come after 130 when they offer 20% off.. i wish they would avoid wiping the counters... i feel like they are trying to close and Im in their way. They are open until 3 I now see so how about doing that when your customers have left.
Surprisingly authentic Hong Kong style takeout. Roast Pork and Crispy Pork Belly do live up the hype. Best kept secret is their off-peak discount, with 15% off before 11:30am and 20% off after 1:30pm.
Great food at a good price. Opt for the Char Kway Teou or the Singapore noodles instead of the rice and you won't be disappointed. The Mandarin beef and chicken are awesome as well as any of the Kung Pao dishes the offer.
I've been visiting this Malaysian establishment once every now and then whenever my work is in dt Minneapolis. Last week, I found out about their new Char Kway Teow dish on the menu stir-fried wide rice noodle strips and almost cried, like it's so hard to find that dish in Minnesota ever since Quang Minh in Dinkytown closed. This dish is popular in Indonesia me, Malaysia, and Singapore. You gotta get that wok smell on that dish, and Orient Express did a pretty good job. Their crispy pork belly and pork bbq is also delicious. Pro tip 1: make a visit after 1:30pm to close and get some discounts post the lunch rush hour. Pro tip 2: closer to closing time, they sometimes already take the food off from the display, but you can still order from whatever menu they have for the day, and they'll grab it for you. Bonus point, see pro tip 1 for discount. Have fun.
I was recommended to come here and I was very impressed with how professional and kind our server was. My girlfriend and I had a great time and felt very welcomed. The food was so good that we are looking to come back more.
