I enjoy breakfast here. We come here about 1x month. The food is comfort-goodness with a huge assortment of pancakes, crepes, waffles and more. I love the German pancake, oven baked and served with lemon and powdered sugar. The BF loves the cherry crepes! The service this past Sunday was the best! Norman was so good excellent server, quick, attentive, and on the ball. Can't say enough good things about Norman. If you are in his section, you are in for a treat with his exceptional care. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly atmosphere
My boss suggested this place and I am so happy I went. I love all the variety and specialty dishes. The apple pancake is phenomenal. I do suggest getting it for the table to share because for one it’s huge and two you are going to want to try other menu options. My friend did not like omelet but no offense to the restaurant i do not really care for chicken in my omelet - nothing against the restaurant- I just think it wasn’t for her. Her daughter got strawberry pancakes not shown - she loved it. Came with jams and whip cream to put on top along with fresh strawberries. I got sausage and bacon to see which was better. Both are good but bacon takes the cake. The home fries are good but I suggest asking them to make them crispy. That’s just how i like them. I got over easy eggs and there were actually over easy. A lot of restaurants can’t seem to always get the style of eggs that you want to a T. I am very impressed by not only the quality of the food but also the service.
I have tried to get here a couple times before, but always so busy. I'm glad I decided to wait this time. If you wanting the apple pancake, just know it takes a little while to make that...roughly 30 mins. It is worth it! The crepes were delicious as well. I loved the fresh cream. I really loved that they did not have a heaping pat of butter on the pancake when it was served. It was brought separate. That's wonderful for people like me that doesn't want butter on her pancakes.
Two time Breakfast Champion Winner! A grand choice selection for breakfast in the South Park Area. Definitely Deliciousness! I’m always somewhere and nowhere..follow me to see where I’m not! Let me know if I have been helpful!
Our party ordered Florentino crepe, pancakes and cherry blintz. The crepe came with potato pancakes. Also ordered orange juice and bacon. Everything was delicious, but the potato pancakes. The potato pancakes were way too salty. Service was good.
Such a dice roll when you order the apple pancake here! If I hadn't grown up on this stuff I weigh 940lbs now in MI because it's cold there, so it's fine- all Michiganders are in the 900 club! Fun fact!, I wouldn't care, but knowing how good they can be, I feel the inconsistency is worth addressing. It was flat and dense, not just deflated from resting. It was pale, and coated in dry clumps of sugar, while the standard is mahogany brown, with more of a glazed, sticky finish for anyone who doesn't know the way. At least one cook and one server felt good about selling it like this, and maybe a mgr/expo in between. It's my birthday, and this was my only concrete celebratory plan- I wasn't going to complain and wait another thirty minutes for another that might not be any better. It was still okay, and I ate it, and I'm not mad about it, but internally, some more attention needs to be given to the validation of the food and standards/processes imo. The coffee was extra weak today. Both my coffee and water went dry. There was mention that cuts were made to the floor, so supports were not in place when it did get busy, and coffee wasn't getting made in time. Personally, I appreciate the honest context. Everybody's doing what they can, and I'll always extend some grace. Doing good, with room for improvement. Please clean the ceiling vent cover above the kitchen threshold.
Worst Grits EVER! Service was great. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes were acceptable-to-good. But those grits??!!! A crying shame how terrible they were. Right here in the SOUTH. I know how they probably cooked them. Placed water and grits TOGETHER at the same time and brought them to a boil. Then they likely added more grits and water to the pot to replenish the supply as they were running out. YUCK! Good southern quick grits not instant grits which should be a crime to sell can ONLY be made one way: Bring water to a raging boil and THEN add the grits. Use about 4 cups of water to every 1 cup of grits. Cook-down for 30 to 45 minutes, reducing heat after about 15 minutes of intense boil. Continue to stir until thick. Use less water for thicker grits. Can add a dash of heavy whipping NOT half n half or milk when almost done but don’t over do it like a lot of restaurants do. Do THIS, and the grits will NEVER separate and become GRAINY and GRITTY and RUNNY like soup in the way these grits were. And by the way, they served them with a SPOON! LOL! Who does that!! LOL! Good grits is not like SOUP! A good grit requires only a fork to eat. If you’re ever served-up a bowl of grits and you need a spoon to eat them because they would run through a fork, SEND THEM BACK! LOL!!! Absolutely ruined the entire experience. Southern breakfast is just NOT southern breakfast without a GOOD grit….not this grainy soup this place is selling.
Food was just ok. The cleanliness was not good. My family including my newborn were sat near an emergency exit door full of dust. Pic attached when we mentioned it the girl, she came out with a rag as if she was going to wipe it down while we were sitting there . We also mentioned to a manager and he seemed unconserned. Another thing was a bus boy that kept coming in and out the kitchen biting an apple that he would leave laying on a shelf that also held the utensils.
Not your average pancake house. So many types of pancakes and waffles, all you can customize to your palate. We had a party of 8 and were seated immediately. Our server was less than attentive tho when she saw we were actually going to want refills, and we did have to beg for our checks, which the manager eventually got for us. All in all tho I’d definitely visit again.. the unique food is worth the annoyance of a slack server :
Can I just say we need one of these restaurants in North Charlotte! The menu is so plentiful, you just don't know what to order because it all looks scrumptious. Over a dozen different kind of pancakes and omelets, besides the usual breakfast fare to choose from. Warm maple syrup is served so your pancakes aren't forced to shiver from cold syrup being poured all over them. Oh, and the coffee is hot and superb. Our waiter, Vito, never let our cups go dry, either. The staff from the front door to the table busser was all friendly and had a smile. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive to partake in a very satisfying breakfast.
