Attended last night for a queer community event and had a blast! The bartenders were kind and accommodating and the atmosphere was amazing. The drinks were also fantastic! Very comfortable community vibe to it with friendly staff and regulars. Will definitely be returning!
Loved the venue, it’s ashamed that the staff and specifically the owner are who they are. They are Inconsiderate and lacking in all customer service, despite the fact that the bartender was very nice but not meant to be a bar tender. Would not recommend throwing or attending any events there. The owner was extremely rude, even insulting. I will be impatiently waiting for what seems to be another rude response from the “owner” because that seems to be his move. This sad little man actually considers himself a business owner which is just plain sad. To top it all off the bathrooms had urine all over the floor from open to close. Do yourself the favor union tavern get another owner or go out of business like you deserve.
I went in on a Saturday night after having food and drinks at another local bar, and I wanted to continue the night with my group of friends and we decided on this bar seeing as they post a 1am closing time. We walked in and there was no doorguy/bouncer at the door when we enteredwhether that's the venues fault or the bouncers fault is irrelevsnt and about 3 minutes after we had walked in and already ordered at the bar we got approached asking for the $15 cover charge which we werent aware of when we walked in and after we had already received drinks from the bar. I talked to the bouncer/employee who asked for the cover charge and said I'm sorry we didn't know this was a cover charge event because nobody was at the door and we got served by the bar anyway. I conversed with them but they were very rude and rebuked everything I was saying, I apologized that we had come in without paying cover but we wouldn't have entered if we knew it was a pay to enter event, even though half of my party had already received drinks when we were made aware I was a pay to enter night. Evidently I won't be returned and even though I've given recommendations in the past I won't be doing so in the future.
Truly a beast den of a mosh hole, bring ur favorite alcoholics, the drinks flow freely at reasonable prices. Must go on a night out/pub crawl if you're in Cambridge, events held here seem to be "supports up and coming artists" so if its your lucky night, you're just passing by and see some posters, definitely go in!Food: 5/5
I attended a evening music event. Venue was a good size, staff were friendly and generous with the pours. Did not try any food but my group was happy with the drinks and atmosphere.Service: 5/5
cool dive bar vibe decent bands typically which is why I go but door staff and barstaff are drier than the desert a hey a hi or smile goes a long way guys..say hello before you blurt out cover charge price...smile or say anything besides what can I get you..when leaving I say to the door man have a nice night he looks at me and gives me the PEZ dispenser head nod
Went to this bar, it's unlike any other. I got amazing service while imbibing on some of the finest adult beverages in Somerville. Even the greasy headed bouncer guy was nice, he was a little sketchy looking, but the owner assured me he was stable. The owner provided awesome repor and the crowd was absolutely delightful. This bar is a must see and truly feels like everyone knows your name. Boston was known for the bar Cheers, but union tavern has surpassed that, best bar I've ever been too.
Venue canceled our show claiming “covid issues”, then lied on their Instagram saying we had covid. We didn’t. Some of these review replies are hilarious though.
Performed at this venue on 1/13 didn't get paid even though we were told we were going to.
I went for the Dancehall Lounge. Great DJ. Great music. But the owner refused to turn the AC on and it was really hot inside. We had to ask multiple times for it to be turned on and we were told to go stand outside to cool off. Even the DJ requested to have the AC turned on. After HOURSSS they finally turned it on. I don't know what the big deal was. We all paid to be there.
