Great way to see the Norfolk shore view. Short ferry ride to Portsmouth n back.
Great ride, friendly workers, smooth ride. The docks were recently renovated. The ferry is always on time and you can always plan your commute knowing that. I highly recommend riding to get to Olde Towne Portsmouth or just enjoying the ride on the water. Totally worth the $2.
I love the views from this spot! Tranquility to the max. Plenty of sitting to enjoy the view or read a book. Lots of restaurants in the same area. A ferry that takes you to the other side. Just a great boardwalk. If you visit Virginia, you must visit The Waterside in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.
Nice place to walk around the water front.
Love this place!! Awesome Ambiance, vivid Views of the river and the traffic on it. The Marina is great and appears to be recently renovated. Way to go waterside!!!
Love the experience of being on the Elizabeth River and seeing all the ships in dock. The ferry staff is very courteous and friendly. They keep to the schedule and ensure a timely trip each way. Recommend to anyone traveling or just visiting the area.
The service and workers are great but I do see a issues with it's suggested sign from PETA saying "Save Whales and Not To Eat Fish" get rid of illegal whaling ships and Pirates known to attack cargo ships and international water laws the defense is water cannon's?? Really people it is a bigger world than some like you to believe. O ya ,, thank you Ferry workers by the way.
I think $8 for a beer in Waterside is too much.
This is one of those "most do" experiences. Whether you are in Norfolk or Portsmouth, take the inexpensive ferry ride across the river to the other side, walk around take in some new scenery, eat lunch, explore a park and then take the ferry back. It's a great inexpensive afternoon event!
Fun and cheap 15 min ferry to get you to Portsmouth. The Norfolk doc does not have a ticket machine like Portsmouth does. So exact change or purchase elsewhere is needed. I love that the tickets are transferable to buses and the Tide.
