This place is a little hidden gem. We loved everything we had. The server was very kind and attentive. The space was quaint and perfect. The egg drop soup was the star. BEST I’ve ever had. We are still dreaming about it.
We came here on a whim after our original dinner choice didn't work out. We're glad that we did because everything we tried was solid. We got the pork dumplings which we quickly regretted not ordering more. The hot and sour soup also ended up being perfect for a rainy day. The Ma Po Tofu had some great flavor but could of used some more spice. We also tried the cucumber salad and scallion pancakes. The cucumber salad was a nice refreshing palate cleanser. I would probably skip the scallion pancakes next time, since it just felt like it was missing something without a sauce. Overall, good food and a place that I would definitely come back to and try some of the other dishes.
Try another place. Mongolian beef was just with regular onions. Spring rolls were like microwaved. Had better ones from the Safeway freezer aisle across the street. Iced tea was a Lipton yellow bag direct to the ice water.
Edit 2023 This place has incredibly tasty selections. I've gotten many different things steamed bok choy, fried rice, cumin pork, spring rolls, sesame beef, kung Pao chicken, crispy beef, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, SPICY PORK WONTONS to name a few and they've all been good. I drive past other Chinese food restaurants to order from or eat here. EDIT - I love the spicy pork wontons and get them every time. Sometimes I get multiple orders of those and some rice and it's a meal. Other times just the app size with an entree.
Delicious!! Fresh authentic healthy dishes with unbelievable flavor. Took our son and friend for a dinner out and did not disappoint! Casual and intimate setting with wonderful service. We will be back!
The potstickers are so good & the pineapple shrimp was AMAZING. I wish it wasnt an hour away from me. I'd be back every weekend.Food: 5/5
Amazing place: Amazing food! I had a wonderful lunch at Shanghai Lounge. The food was delicious especially the soup dumplings. The restaurant had a very charming and comfortable atmosphere that I would definitely return to. Customer service was also great! I would definitely recommend!
A good authentic Chines food restaurant around the area. For my personal perspective, their food are a little salty, but they have better quality of rice among all other Chinese restaurant I had been to.
Every time we go, there's something new to try. Any type of dumpling is our go-to. The manager Flo...? was the sweetest lady. She struck good conversation and helped us with our food choice. We've added this to our list of monthly eats in D.C.!
Some of the best Chinese in DC! Very friendly service; they speak perfect English as well as mandarin. Hope to return soon!
