The previous reviews almost kept me from this venue, but I am beyond pleased my party ignored them and elected to dine here anyway. I cannot emphasize how pleasantly surprised I am at the level of cuisine I experienced when dining at Palace Arms. The atmosphere set the expectation when it came to what our dinner was going to be like. The environment is ornate, meticulously curated, and an amazing homage to Napoleon Bonaparte. As for food, we started with an incredible scallop appetizer paired with a delightful elote sauce. For dinner, my husband enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass. I myself had to sneak a bite, and it was a melt-in-your-mouth dish that was incredible. I had the wagyu ribeye, cooked to absolute perfection. I also cannot over-emphasize that the foraged mushroom are hands-down the best I have ever enjoyed. Our waiter, Michael, was an absolute joy and his passion for The Brown Palace came through in everything he did. I highly recommend Palace Arms for your dining at The Brown Palace. This was one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever taken part in, and I am so excited to come back in the future.
Outstanding service, food mostly good especially the seafood, and Caesar salad, good desserts. Sent back a prime rib, but still was billed for it. Over cooked New York steak.Food: 3/5
We were visiting Denver from the Cincinnati area and heard from many that the Palace Arms was a must! Upon arrival at The Brown Palace Hotel, we were delighted by the beauty of the lobby and enjoyed a few moments of the jazz combo playing before we entered the restaurant. The Palace Arms is steeped in history and the decor certainly reflected that! We started with a glass of Cava for me and an old fashioned for him along with the caviar and blini. A real treat! I ordered the salmon and the skin was perfectly crisp and delicious. His NY strip looked more like a filet very thick and boxy instead of long. He also had to send the steak back as he’d ordered medium and it arrived rare. Arrival of our first drinks took almost 30 minutes. We were told a server had called off. But our server did not charge for my Cava as an apology, and gave us a comp sherbet for dessert. The check came with two large and delicious chocolate truffles. Despite the bit of a service hiccup, we enjoyed the meal tremendously. I’d recommend for anyone looking for an elegant meal in a very interesting venue.
Hostess greeted us very kindly. Enviroment was fun. I should have really listened to the reviews on here insteadbof Open Table. Had the Risotto starter which okay. Husband did enjoy his Seabass. Ordered the Wagyu Rib-Eye with foie butter which was absolutely terrible. No marbling in the Wagyu. Very lean cut of meat and super chewy. Foie butter tasted like bleu cheese. Let staff and manager know that there had to be a steak mix up and was told no mix up. Foie butter white in appereance, never melted, texture/look of an unmelted pat of brie, tasted like bleu cheese which my spouse confirmed the bleu cheese as that is his favorite cheese is supposed to taste like bleu cheese and Wagyu Rib-Eye is supposef to be lean because the chef confirms. On my plate, I ate the mushrooms which were tasty I did let them know that and 1/3 of the meat. I didn't even get the chance to try the potatoes as they immediatley whisked my plate/food away once I let them know the was not good. Once I let the waiter know my wagyu was not good, we were pretty much rushed out there. They took 20%off the bill but I didn't really care about that. I will pay for what I ordered and eat. However, I was not offered a replacement rib‐eye nor a substitution, nor did the chef come to the table to explain or apologize. Not a very high end experience as touted.
Place was nice! Food was average! The atmosphere was nice, but the service was exceptional!Food: 3/5
We came to dinner here a couple weeks ago for our anniversary. The hostess congratulated us first thing. Our server was Merrick and he was top notch! We loved the table side made Caesar Salad. My husband ordered the duck and it was delicious. I ordered the vegan risotto with mushrooms and it was good but I wouldn’t rave about it. The side dish of veggies we got were cooked to perfection. At the end of dinner we were offered complimentary chocolate truffles. The ambiance is so lovely. It felt nice to be taken care of in this beautiful space. Highly recommend!
Great food, but even better service. Menu describes the Palace Arms as a dining museum and the relics of Napoleon make a beautiful and unique environment.Recommended dishesSea Bass
When you're staying at the Brown Palace for a special occasion, as were my wife and I, and you want to be a little decadent without regard to cost, a fabulous dinner at the Palace Arms is "just what the doctor ordered." Highly professional staff, absolutely outstanding entrees, great wine list, elegant cozy atmosphere.
We have a friend who was celebrating a big birthday on December 24, so wanted the evening to be special for him. I spoke directly with the dining department when making my reservation. Once seated at our table, we were surprised to learn that rather than having the entire menu to choose from, our only option was their prix fixe dinner, which included a small salad, beef wellington and a dessert, and there was no price quoted on the sheet they gave us describing the meal. These are details I would have expected to hear when I made the reservation, but were never mentioned. Sadly, the service was terrible - our salad was served before our dinner drinks arrived, and the entree was served right on top of that. We had to ask for the same things several times: a new fork, bread, etc. I can understand that in an average restaurant, but certainly not this one! The salad was surprisingly small, and the dressing was undetectable. We were told our beef wellington would be served medium rare which we preferred yet it came out medium well and with undercooked vegetables. The best course of the three was dessert. So imagine our disgust when the bill arrived, and the price of JUST the meal was $175.00 per person and no, that didn't include drinks!!! Normally, their highest priced entree is in the $70 range, so this was well more than twice what we were expecting! Should we have asked the price? In hindsight yes, but we never dreamed a restaurant held in such high esteem would stealthily and blatantly rip off its guests! I will never set foot in any Brown Palace restaurant again. Shame on you!!! Parking: Valet parking available for $24.00; no validation.
Worst lighting ever for breakfast. The lights are blinding and terrible for the morning. Latte also wasn't good. Food was ok.Food: 3/5
