Pan Am Equities is a terrible landlord that does not care about mice in their resident’s apartments. Do not rent from them and stay away from their building at 255 West 14th Street building. Management Team does not follow up with residents about concerns. Do not rent from this firm.
We lived at the 2 Water property for 11 years and loved every moment of our tenancy. The staff exceeds all levels of professionalism - they keep the building running perfectly at all times. Geraldine and Sang in the home office were always responsive and helpful. The building has great amenities and is spotless. Mostly, the doormen/porters/and building manager are just gems. We had a very hard time leaving this building and will miss it greatly.
Would've given 0 stars if I could. I moved out from one of the building they are managing. It has been 2 months since I've vacated and still haven't received my deposit payment. Sent them 6 emails thus far with no reasonable responses on when the deposit check would be sent. I ended up calling today after their irresponsible and neglecting emails and they said they just received the forwarding address today and will be shipping out the check in 2 days :
Everyone who works for this company is just a horrible human. If you want to be harassed, sued, lied to, and generally treated terribly, live in one of their properties.
DO NOT LIVE IN ONE OF THEIR BUILDINGS!! Just moved out of their 304 E 20th St building because they had a mice infestation. They could not care less. They just hang up the phone on you. I ended up calling the health department and they found countless violations and mice in the basement. I finally moved out and I get the run around just to get my deposit back. Avoid any of their buildings at all costs.
My year living in a property managed by Pan Am has been a nightmare. I've had many little problems like my toilet only flushing once an hour, the knob and lock on my door being broken so that the door gets stuck and I have trouble getting in and out of my apartment, and an unresponsive super. More concerning are issues such as the constant smell of cigarettes in a building that is allegedly smoke-free which affects my asthma, security issues, and my packages constantly getting stolen. The management company is extremely unresponsive, and in MONTHS of trying to contact them, I have only managed to get a hold of someone once. Even then, he was extremely callous and unhelpful and didn't seem to care about any of the issues I brought up. I was essentially told that it was "not [their] problem." I never leave reviews, but when I googled Pan Am and saw that they already had such horrendous reviews, I felt like I had to warn other people who were considering leasing their properties.
Shikena Melton at Pan Am has been super helpful, responsive and friendly with my cousin's lease at The Caroline! She's amazing!
