Pastis
"Pastis is a French bistro located in Manhattan's meatpacking district opened by Keith McNally. Executive Chef Pascal Le Seac'h prepares a menu that combines hearty Provençal dishes with moderately-priced bistro fare. The bar serves a range of house cocktails, wines by the glass, carafe or bottle, and several varieties of pastis, an anise-flavored aperitif from the south of France."

Everything about this place is phenomenal from the service to the food. To begin, our flight to NYC got delayed so I called the restaurant informing them we would be 45 minutes late for our reservation. The hostess said “life happens” and happily rescheduled us to a later time. When we sat down we were immediately greeted by our server who was ON IT the entire time. We told her we were in a bit of a rush due to our flight delay and she took that seriously! We received our food <10 min after ordering, it was hot and fresh and still every bit as excellent as you expect from this place. I had the branzino which was cooked to perfection, meaty, and the giant bean side was a delight! My mom ordered the shaved steak sandwich and omg drooooool. It was so excellent I can still taste it now! Everything our tongues touched was delightful and expertly prepared. Service was so fast we even had time to snag a cappuccino which was so good absolutely no sugar was needed. I cannot recommend enough an experience here. Besides the great food the atmosphere of being outside and seeing NYC flow around you is just incomparable. If you’re in the neighborhood and want a fantastic dining experience then I 10/10 recommend this place!
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC! I love French restaurants and it doesn’t get any more iconic than Pastis! I just LOVE everything in here- the place, the vibe, the food, cocktails and desserts. I always have a great experience going here. Nice service as well. Highly recommend!
Delicious food with great drinks! Pastis is always busy, so be sure to book ahead. We have been many times for brunch and would highly recommend! The servers are all super friendly and cannot do enough for you to make your visit a great one! We had cocktails, brunch and a dessert which were all brilliant! There are high chairs for children should you need it too. It can get a little noisy in there when full so book outside if you prefer it quieter.
Everything is delicious, came here for a Sunday lunch/brunch after visiting Whitney Museum. Busy ans crowded but great atmosphere. Steak sandwiches and fries, Egg benedict all so yummy! Even the coffee and profiterole! Can’t wait to return to try other things on the menu.
Great, attentive service. Lovely ambiance. My steak was cooked as desired - the sauce was delicious. The salad was fresh. The desserts were amazing too. All around really great meal from start to finish!
Let me save you time and money, don’t get the hanger steak, this ain’t it here. However….and I say this being absolutely amazed…the burger…kicks ass…if there was one single item across the 9 restaurants I’ve been to on this trip it is the best out of them all. DO NOT SLEEP on this burger.
A delicious restaurant in a lovely area. Would definitely come back to try different dishes. The Steak Sandwich is a must ! Keep in mind that it’s big and it’s better to do a mix with another dish.
I went to Pastis for the first time with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed my brunch experience! The gruyere omelete was delicious and by far the neatest-looking omelet I've ever had. Great presentation! My friend had the pancakes, which were thick and fluffy. The scone which has blueberries was great texture-wise and flavor-wise. The lemon loaf slice was fine light on the flavor, dense and somewhat dry. Staff was attentive and friendly, and I'd definitely return!
From the owners of Balthazar - Pastis lives up to it’s hype being an exclusive high quality eatery. The decor is amazing and the food is delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but the burger definitely stands out. The service was really fast. Deducting one star cuz we had to wait for our table for over 40 mins but the food was really well received.
A classic that doesn´t fail. It´s been a few years since my last time and the new location is as great as the last one. Fantastic atmosphere, you feel like at a French old bistro, good food and a very comfortable place to be for a quick lunch. I´ll definitely be back every time I´m in New York
