So much outdoor space for kids to rip & run. Family friendly park with lots of parking, grills, and revitalized tires for kids to stay busy on. Need to add swings. Park rangers circulate premise and are usually pretty helpful with general information.
It looked like it was going to be great fun. I took my 3 year old and she was not able to reach/climb on a lot of the built-ins. We instead switched to playing with leaves and running around a bit.
This is a great area of Patapsco Hilton area, with the tire park/playground, hiking and camping. The playground is quite large and has a great variety of things for all ages. There are many hiking trails, and it's always beautiful in the park, especially in the fall. I have returned many times for hiking, playing, and camping with my family.
This place is super cool. $2 on the off season to get in and that helps keep the parks clean and thriving. They don’t make playgrounds like this anymore. I had fun running around with my friends kids and would recommend for kids of all ages. They also have a nature center that is open on weekends for lots of learning.
Great fun for kids of all ages! The park has a tire park for the older kids, swings for the younger ones and a few climbing areas. There's also a nice nature center and sensory trail and good hiking all around.
Completely shaded fun on a hot summer day! Creative, open-ended play for kids. Tires are half-buried in the ground, so you can walk/hop/run across. There's also a more typical playground with slides, etc. There's a sign at the entrance that says dogs are not allowed, so I sat with my puppy at the picnic tables at the perimeter while my kids played. A bathroom is conveniently located right next to the area. There is a fee of $2 per car. To find it, set your GPS to Patapsco State Park, Hilton area.
Great play area for the kids with plenty of parking. Information kiosk says it was designed by kids and I can believe it. Interesting design for creative natural play. There is a parking fee as it is a state park.
One of my favorite parks. We explore the many miles of trails within patapsco surrounding the tire park. Very clean and well kept.
The tire swing has been taken down, so the playground seemed a bit lacking. They did have a cool adventure ranger station that had kid crafts, games, animal exhibits and books. The bathrooms were very clean.
It’s a great park for the kids to play and be in the woods. Just wish they had a swing set. There used to be a tire swing, but even that is gone now.
