SO GOOD! Got my nails done by April, who was so nice and did a gorgeous job! Will definitely come back for fills and sets. It did take 3 hours, but she was thorough and it was well work the wait. The other technicians were funny and fun to be around as well. 10/10!!
I got my hair cut here on a Tuesday - they were particularly busy, but the receptionist was overly curt and I wasn't seated for my scheduled appointment until 15 minutes after I was supposed to start. Not a great first impression. However, the lady who cut my hair was very gentle, methodical and friendly, so while my overall time was 2 hours for a reasonably simple haircut, it was well executed and I'm quite pleased with the result. Especially for the price. Would definitely return.
This place is good for a hair cut or a "simple" dye job. However, do expect to take at least 2 hours for a haircut and > 4 hours for any hair dying. Some of the challenge is that there are talented students & some not so talented students. The first couple times I came, I had a super sharp & talented individual, & she did great work. The first few times the instructor who checked the student's work was also very good & had great attention to detail. So in 2013 & early 2014 I would have recommended this place. The last few times I have gone, I have had to have my bangs redone at a different salon because they were terribly uneven. In addition, the instructor the good ones that were there a year or so ago are now gone on the floor did not know how to successfully cut bangs or dye hair themselves, because they were the ones who gave the dye instructions & physically cut my hair. So... even if there are talented students, they themselves cannot make up for poor teaching & technique. I would not recommended this place now based upon the last 3-4 appointments I have had... considering that it is no longer a savings if you have to pay to get your hair fixed afterwards. I do want to say that I appreciate that everyone is generally very friendly here at least, I have only had one instructor who didn't seem to care at all about doing a good job. So at least it is pretty pleasant when you spend several hours there at a time.
My experience was terrific from start to finish. Students are receptive to client requests. I got a fabulous cut and color. The stylist and teacher were sweet as can be. They explained face shapes and what is most flattering. I am going back for an appointment in 1 month for a touch up and recommend Paul Mitchell Institute to everyone. Very satisfied customer.
Rosanna washed, cut and styled both my hair and my 8 year daughter's. We are really happy with the results, left the salon looking way better than we came in for sure! Price was right and it only took a little bit longer than in a standard salon because a teacher checked in before and after the cut/style. My daughter ended up getting a pedicure while it was my turn for a haircut. Her toes are adorable and she is ready to go back soon and have Alicia do her fingers. We will definitely visit again.
I went in thinking that i may be making a mistake on letting a student cut my hair. When I walked through the door I was greeted with an awesome atmosphere and many smiles and hello's. They got me in a chair within 10 minutes with a stylist that actually acted like she wanted me to be there. I explained to her what i wanted and she even took notes. Her teacher came over to check on her and she had to explain exactly what I wanted and she told her the exact hair cut I was about to get. The girl spent quite a bit of time on my hair perfecting every angle and trimming it to exactly what i had asked for. I could see the excitement on her face as she pulled it together. No one has ever paid that much attention to detail when cutting my hair. I was thoroughly impressed. After she got done, she told me it was the best hair cut she has probably done while at school. My overall experience was amazing. The price was a plus. Only spent 16 dollars. I could not believe it. I recommend this product to anyone.
I received a gift for a facial, Mani, Pedi, Hair cut & color. I had 2 different girls and they were both great. Each of them gave me a great experience for a "SPA DAY" and for ones that are learning both of them asked for help when needed by the instructor and everything for me turned out great! The only down side is it does take a bit longer than normal appointments but make the time. For the price you cant beat it. They were friendly and I would defiantly recommend them! Thank you Melody & Jessie for a great day! Best wishes in your future you will both do great!
I enjoy coming to see my stylist Sarah. She is real with me and is willing to work with me. Although I had a couple mistakes that had to be fixed because of my crazy curls and going from so long to so short, Sarah fixed them and made it look fabulous. Then when I went back for my dye job. Sarah amazing me again. It is definitely worth going, you just have to find the right person and go with your instincts. If they don't fit what you think you want, go with someone else, I communicated what I wanted and they matched me with Sarah and I have been satisfied. She is amazing!
Today was my first time at the Paul Mitchell School, and I wasn't sure what to expect. All I knew is that my roots needed to be touched up, but beyond that I had no idea what I wanted. The girl who did my hair was named Alexa, and she was amazing! She told me all of my options and made sure I was on board before I did anything. She made sure I was comfortable, and she did an amazing job. It turned out better than I expected. They are also very upfront about prices and really have your happiness in mind.
Came here yesterday to get my blonde balayage lightened and got paired up with Madison Joki. She is a sweetheart! Not only that, but the results of my hair were outstanding. She lightened and toned it perfectly without damaging the hell out of it. She brought my warm-orangy toned blonde to a cool icy platinum in one sitting. We had great conversation and I felt very welcomed my entire visit. Everyone else working there was very friendly too and the atmosphere is always lively and fun. I recommend booking with Madison if you come here to get any services - she's extremely talented & great to talk to especially if you're spending all day getting your hair done. This was my 4th time coming here for my hair. I've always had good experiences and never once had an issue. Everyone that studies here wants the best for you and your hair and will do everything they can to achieve what you want!
