As other customers rated, this store’s service does not match with the brand s popularity. No greetings when I entered the store. Staffs were picking up customs whom might be potential buyers. They didn’t display items on sale. I would like to try different sizes of blazer, but one staff s response is :”do u wanna buy it, if not, why I should go down to the storeroom to bring another size.” LOL. So I’m here rating your service.
I came to the Paul Smith flagship store to exchange some shoes that were a bit too small on me. Even though they were slightly worn, the lady working there exchanged the shoes for a bigger size without question. She was very helpful in determining the appropriate size for me. My only constructive criticism is the price matching. The collection and sale selection was great, although the staff declined to price match beyond 50% to any department stores. The Los Angeles store price matched to Saks Fifth Avenue for the shoes I wanted to exchange. I fell in love with a shirt but decided not to purchase it since it was significantly less expensive at Saks.
I love Paul Smith clothes, but I do find this store a little bit to much of a showroom, it's always fairly empty of customers.
I'll be diplomatic: Paul Smith inspires love and/or admiration in some people, a total eh in others. While I'm with the former group on the really nice cufflinks here, with the clothes I'm squarely in the latter camp. "Style" here is understated to the point of invisibility, and if you don't buy the signature Paul Smith stripe I don't think anybody will realize you're wearing obscenely expensive clothes. The look is classic and restrained, and everything is very well made, but unless you're a severely underweight, 40ish British billionaire I'm thinking this won't be your thing.
DREADFUL customer service. Extraordinarily overpriced merchandise. Complete disaster. If you want to waste money, bring me $1,600 in cash and we'll roast marshmallows. ----------------------- The store is nicely laid out and some of the items are pretty cool looking e.g. cufflinks, but that's not enough to make a high end fashion store. I bought a suit at Paul Smith. First of all, you NEED to know that Paul Smith suits are made ONLY for anemically-thin British guys so the armholes are up by a normal man's ears and the back of the suit is guaranteed to be too narrow. Further notice: every suit comes only in regular size; no short sizes and no big & talls. Nevertheless, I was PROMISED that the suit I liked could be altered to fit me comfortably for a price, because jacket shortening is not included. About THIRTY minutes of pinning latter, my suit now perforated with dozens, if not hundreds, of pins is finally headed to the tailor, and I'm heading home scratching my head as to why it took so long to take my measurements. After all, it doesn't normally take more than five minutes and a few pins, but they promised me it was because they're paying more attention to detail. Unfortunately, not the case - I came back and the sleeves were drastically incorrect, and the pants weren't great either. Thirty minutes MORE of re-pinning. A few days later, I get a call explaining that I have to go to the tailor because the tailor can't figure out why one arm is pinned a half-inch longer than the other. They measure my arms, and, lo and behold, my arms are the same length. Go figure.. Paul Smith screwed up a second time. The "plenty of material" the salespeople told me was available in the crotch was just a lie; there's no room to open it up. Same goes for the back of the suit. FOUR trips, and way too much money later, I have an UNWEARABLE suit, and Paul Smith's manager tells me there's nothing they can do because they don't take refunds on altered clothing. Seriously? Even Bloomingdale's offered to take a return on an altered suit. SUMMARY: This place is an overpriced joke. I will never shop here again. Paul Smith and his cronies can keep my friggin' money, but don't let them take yours. Go shopping at Bloomingdale's because the prices are better, the quality is at least as good, and at least they have the decency to stand behind your satisfaction.
Worst and rudest customer service ever, I wanted to buy boots, for $500, a suite, scarf and cufflinks, I could have spent 3k cash. I guess I will spend my money with friendlier stores, never Paul smith ever.
So I saw a few people write nasty stuff on yelp about this company and I would like to say from what I have seen they are very wrong. This store is amazing they have great stuff, always helps my brother and I out...our suits only come from them and when there is a problem or something happened to our stuff they never gave us a problem, always helped us out and always gave us a discount when that happened...also everyone there smiles all the time...and they are very helpful and always looking to see what they can do!
Love their line. Very attentive and helpful sales staff. Looking good!
We had never been treated like this in a Paul Smith store before. Staff treated us with contempt. Don't go to this location.
Great shopping experience and the art on the walls are worth a look at.
