Pecos Community Center

Has it all! Free sand volleyball, tennis and basketball courts (outdoor). Large gymnasium (indoor). Playgrounds for both toddlers and big kids. Splash pads during summer months (May thru Aug). Skate park for bikes, boards and scooters. Large pool with water slide (paid entry). Great place!

They were extremely helpful and courteous. Personally escorted me to the adjoining Senior Center so I could get more information. Tara at the Senior Center was very knowledgeable and explained several programs I was interested in.

Major high voltage electrical powerlines run right next to building. Many of the outdoor fields are almost under the high voltage powerlines. Not a good place to locate a community center. Schools are not allowed to be this close to high voltage powerlines so why put a Community Center here? My family moved here recently and we came to check it out but left after seeing the powerlines. I will have a seizure if I am directly under a high voltage powerline and experience pain if even close. I realize that is a rare condition, but even studies show these high voltage powerline cause medical conditions.

Large, open fields, nice playground, a large dog and another small dog play yard work good separation. Plenty of parking and good walking loops.

Very nice park! Has a dog park, pool, skate park, basketball/tennis courts, plenty of soccer fields and cold drinking fountains!
