The Arlington location of Pediatric Associates of Alexandria was a good experience from start to finish. Switching health insurance, we switched from Kaiser Capitol Hill which we loved to here based on recommendations. Here's our experience after our first visit with our five-year-old daughter: 1 Experience: It was easy to set up an appointment via phone. We checked in and waited only a few minutes before my daughter's name was called. We were taken to a patient room and barely had to wait in between nurses and the doctor. We were in and out within 30 minutes. 2 Service: The nurses and doctor all had good bed side manner and were friendly. My daughter liked each of them! 3 Parking: There's street parking nearby that costs only a few dollars. 4 Online Portal: After our visit, we were given access to an online portal to make future appointments.
We love Pediatric Associates of Alexandria. Scheduling appointments is easy, we never have a long wait and everyone is so friendly. Can’t say enough great things about Karen Johnson, she is the absolute best. So kind and reassuring. She takes her time to explain things and always makes me feel like I’m doing a great job with my little one.
I would highly recommend this pediatric office. All the staff front desk, nurses and doctors are really nice, they will make you and your child to feel comfortable through the visit. When you arrive they will call you fast and you won’t have to wait much time in the waiting room. We have seen Sarah in our last visits and she’s the best, super kind and takes time to explain and answer questions.
I had a 4 month visit today. The nurse who was assigned to us was so dismissive to my husband and I. No greeting, no smiles. We got to the room. She put us in the room and left after asking a few questions. I asked her a simple question she would know like what’s is today’s visit about? She said the doctor will tell me and left. The doctor ordered vaccines. This nurse came rushing in, told us to undress the baby. She poked my baby so rough, she couldn’t didn’t even put the bandage on the right spot. She knocked my baby bottle in the trash, and walked out of the room. I asked her what her problem is, and why she is treating us with such disrespect. She told me to talk to her supervisor. She said she is only doing her job. I asked her why she knocked the baby bottle in the trash, and didn’t even apologize? She said she can only offer me wipes. My poor baby was crying non stop. How can you be this mean to a 4 month old baby? This job requires compassion. I didn’t feel safe leaving the office. She poked her and walked out of the office. I’m disappointed. The sad part of all this is the other 2 worker I spoke to about this situation. They only say sorry, and told me I can call to complain. Well, they just a patient.
We had a 4 month visit today and the nurse who administered vaccines was awful. She walked in the room and didn't acknowledge us or our baby - just said to put the baby down she was being carried because she had started crying. She didn't speak to our baby during the entire process, didn't try distracting her, and immediately left without saying anything to us. For a visit that is inherently going to be unpleasant due to getting shots, the least a pediatric practice can offer is warm and welcoming staff - not someone who acts like she doesn't even want to be around children. Horrible end to a visit after sitting in the waiting room for close to 30 minutes for a second time. Although the doctor Ashley was great, seems like the overall experience is getting worse each time.
If I could give ZERO stars I would! Everything has been pretty good until today. $50 for an online form in a timely manner that is required by the state to start daycare or school is ridiculous! I scheduled a wellness check, which the system allowed me to do, just for my wife to get there and they said they don't do them outside of their schedule. 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, etc., so our 3 month old that needed this for daycare couldn't be seen. They need to make this clear on their website that you CAN NOT schedule a wellness check, it has to be a sick call visit, which they still won't fill out the necessary paperwork at because it is not a wellness check. I gave in, filled out the expedited form, just to be told that it won't be done in time for her to start daycare on Monday because they have 1 business day to complete this and Saturday although they are open isn't a typical business day. The inconvenience has now cost me 2 days of work instead of 1 and they don't seem to care. The customer service aspect of it was TERRIBLE. We will definitely be finding a new office after this. Not to mention they can't even get the sex of our daughter right and keep telling us it's updated in the system and they still haven't done it after 3 months just due to pure laziness.
We were very pleased with the staff and facilities at PAA Potomac Yard. Our physician and nurse listened well, took plenty of time with us, and gave us a great plan of care. They were all excellent with our kids and made our experience smooth and pleasant. I highly recommend!
Dr. Waller is amazing. She always spends time with us, doesn't rush, and allows me to go through my questions! She also does a really nice job of making sure that I, as a mom, am OK and am not questioning my decisions, etc. I always leave our appointments with her feeling good about where our son is!
Dr. Shropshire is very prompt, attentive, experienced and always find what is best for my child. But the whole team nurses, doctors and front desk employees are always kind and respectful as well. The below parking lot makes it convenient.
We saw NP Suzanne O’Brien again this morning and she is absolutely fantastic!! She’s so patient with both us and our kids and no matter how busy it is which is a lot! she never makes us feel rushed and always makes sure all of our questions and concerns are answered! We’re very grateful to have her as our doctor!
