This is a nice shady park next to the water but all the equipment is a safe distance from the water. The new playground is made for climbers but the swings are set too high. My son is 5ft 4in and has disabilities. He needed help to get on the regular swing because shorties like us need to hop up. I'm not sure how younger kids can get on without help. There are 3 big kid / adult swings, 1 big kid /adaptive swing, and 2 baby swings.
Pembroke Meadows Park. A small park, recently updated. Hidden in the Pembroke Meadows neighborhood, it offers a scenic view of the local lake, a playground, as well as providing a thoroughfare to the Ferry Plantation House. Nice park for a quick pass by, or for kids in the area.
I took my granddaughter here, she's 3 years old & she really enjoyed it. We brought with us a Ziploc with dog food in it to feed ducks if we happen to run into them. We never saw ducks but we did see turtles so we walked to the edge of the lake & threw a couple of pieces of dog food at the turtles, before you knew it there was 10 or 20 turtles coming in right up to us and swimming closer to us and we fed them until it was all gone. It was really neat. Instead of feeding the ducks we fed the turtles. We had a very good experience & the park is beautiful. Playground: Nice playground in a beautiful setting. Picnic area: Benches to rest on and eat a sandwich if you'd like.
My family love coming here. We love the water and playground area. We also love walking the trail. Playground: Nice new playground with obstacles for the children. Restrooms: There are no restrooms here. Dog-friendliness: A lot of people take their dogs her for walks. Picnic area: There's a small picnic area. It's nice for a small group.
One of the best parks we've been to by far. I take my 3 year old to a different park every weekend. Our number 1 park has been 301 Newtown Road norfolk, cova church public park and all is if you live tall slides and a beautiful interstate view from 25 feet in the air. However Pembroke meadows lake park was amazing. Thought that since most of the obstacles that they have are for kids 6 or older that you would not enjoy. However he tried everything over and over again until he mastered it. We then hung out by the lake and walk down the bank and got to see all sorts of Wildlife and talk to a couple people fishing. It's on a dead-end street and all the children and adults that were there were super awesome. Recommend if you want to go fishing or just sit on a bench with a beautiful view of many different river wild life.all while the kids play. This is the spot! Love it #1
Man oh man we just found this spot two weeks ago and have been back 4 times since. Not a lot of pics to share, so I will just tell you what we found and have had several times. I think our favorite is homemade tzatziki sauce, spanakopita, dolmades, gyro meat side,Greek meatballs, vegetarian falafel platter, chicken soup with lemon OMG, regular French fries or his oven roasted potatoes. Desserts: we have tried homemade baklava, homemade rice pudding, and his spice cake. All 3 are over the top. Please keep in mind this is a small spot, few tables just two people run the whole operation. Elias & Abby. No alcohol beverages. Big to go business. Right next to Cinema movie theater. You will love it.
Small and quaint. Neighborhood spot for children to play, people take their dogs for walks and the lake view cannot be beat. Nobody was wearing mask tho and nobody was wiping down equipment before allowing their children to play on it.
Quiet neighborhood park. We love that it's by the water. You could fish or boat from here. Playground equipment is a bit worn. Plenty of shade for hot days. There are benches, picnic tables, and at least one grill.
They've redone the whole park and had some really fun stuff
Beautiful little park by the water with playground in the shade. Could use some paint and cleaning but great for a warm day
