This place is pretty good for Boston Asian standards. Not quite the same as in Malaysia or Singapore but it definitely does a job in satisfying those cravings. I enjoyed the chicken rice and the peanut pancake the most from what we ordered. Also love that they have drinks from Southeast Asia!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
This was our first time at a Malaysian restaurant. All the foods we ordered were excellent. I asked one of the staff if these were traditional items, and she assured me that these are dishes you can find all over Malaysia. Everything on the menu looks so good. I will make many return trips to Penang Malaysian Cuisine so I can try all their dishes. We really enjoyed eating here and highly recommend this place to everyone! Located on Washington Street in Boston Massachusetts. There are public parking garages right in the area.
Stopped by on a Friday evening and service was pretty quick. Hainanese chicken was tender and the serving size was decent for its price. Other dishes weren't too bad either.Food: 4/5
I was surprised by their Hainanese Chicken! It’s sooo fresh and absolutely delicious. The portion was huge with such a reasonable price. Definitely one of the must-try dishes! Starting with Roti Canai would be a good choice as an appetizer, it’s an Indian pancake with curry dipping sauce. Penang Pad Thai is bit spicy but delicious as well.
The flavor of the food was special and delicious. However had some problems would like to point out: 1-The beef curry had very little beef. 2-The fried noodle also had little to no meat/seafood or ingredients 3-The price is a little expensive for what they offer 4-The Malaysian coffee had nothing special about it. 5-The waitress was very pushy, came to our table 3 times in less than 5 minutes for us to order.
It was nice to find a place that's open on Christmas Day. As a Malaysian, I think their menu offerings are great. I tried their Hainanese Chicken Rice and ABC dessert, the chicken was great but the rice that came with it tasted more like normal steamed white rice, not the typical chicken rice. The ABC was decent too. The only substandard part is when I was about to leave after paying, the waitress just came up to me and asked for more tip. I was sure I tipped the standard rate, so I was a little taken aback by that.
Went out walking around Chinatown and saw this place with a bunch of people so we decided to stop. We were immediately greeted and seated. Ordered the Saki shot flight mango was good, strawberry was ok, green and white not so much. The chicken wings were really good. I enjoyed the sauce on the wings and they weren’t fries too hard. The fried rice was tasty, not dry and tasted fresh. The restaurant is an open style where you can see them preparing meals and making drinks. It’s a big space if you have a large party. This seemed to be one of the popular spots to stop at as it was busy the entire time we were there.
What an authentic selection of Malaysian cuisines. It tastes exactly like the food I had in Malaysia. Their char kuey tiauw is the best, it has smoky flavour from the wok. I’ve also tried their beef rendang, and chicken hainan. All satisfy my expectation to taste authentic south east asian food in Boston.
Every time I stroll this street, I see tons of people eating here. I have always looked through the window and wondered what was so special and going on here? I came here for dinner and tried a couple things - curry chicken and mango chicken. Both were ok and could be much better. Food - 10/20 - dishes could have been prepared a bit better. Mango chicken was just too much smothered in mango and mango sauce. Would recommend having that with some rice and take away some mango. Atmosphere - 4/10 Service - 2/10 - practically non-attentive. No formal plates given. You have to flag someone down for ordering.
Stopped in based on the recommendation of a friend. Despite a relatively busy evening, I was able to get a table pretty quickly. Service was pleasant and efficient. I had the Roti and the Penang Dry Curry with Chicken. The Roti and the gravy that came with it was excellent, the curry especially was just perfectly flavored. The chicken curry was also very good and paired well with a dish of coconut rice. Not too many Malaysian restaurants out there - I'd definitely recommend giving this place a shot!
