Do not hire! I started new additional cabinetry in my kitchen because Paul Gordon owner promised an EXACT match of stain on 2 separate occasions. A great match would have sufficed. The stain match is not anywhere near the existing cabinets! His “worker” showed us a 4” stain sample once the job was started . He said “that is the match and I cant get better than this. He said it was a great match. He did all the new cabinetry without showing us one door first. Heartbreaking. Gordon admitted a better match should and could be found. His next sample was worse. Paint store professionals and other professional painters agreed it was a bad attempt to match. Only a computer match! Also they do all work in your garage instead of a professional facility with a dust free environment. I have a text from Paul offering graciously to refund the money and either strip his work or pay for new doors. When I took him up on his offer I received a text from him telling me to contact his attorney. He told me he felt he deserved the chance to fix his mistake. His worker had REFUSED to start with matching the stain on the older cabinets. He said his match would be better not to worry. We asked him again and he said it took longer to apply than the type he was using. He told Paul we REFUSED to give him our stain when we told Paul. The original stain needed to be the base to start and then tweak. He worker DENIED we ever offered him the stain. Said HE had asked US for it—-AND WE REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO HIM. My husband send I told him in front of Paul this was a lie. What possible sense does this make??? So that was another reason we wanted our money back. Paul said this worker was the only one he had to do the job. He reneged on his word to refund our money. Now we are starting the process of taking him to court. To right a terrible injustice that has been done by Perfection Painting. RUN away as fast as you can!!
I'm unsure of the quality of work that this painter has. However, as a resident of Des Moines, I can say whoever drives around the big silver truck with Perfection Painting on the tailgate, is loud and obnoxious, blurting out how much the atm in the gas station is off, and thay he has SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS to the poor station clerk, as if she has even the most minor effect on it. My advice? Don't allow your employees with no understanding of proper social etiquette to drive around your company vehicle.
We love how our oak cabinets turned out after the update! Very professional, quality work.
