Stopped by for a quick take out lunch. Apparently they no longer offer lunch specials so my meal ended up being a little expensive. Ordered pork fried rice and spring rolls. Didn’t have to wait long, but items were good. Fried rice could’ve use more eggs and pork. The decor in the restaurant was outdated, but it had old world charm. Wouldn’t reorder for the price.
Pho was good Large pho was good taste but this restaurant so old. Stop time in this restaurant. Old and dirty. I ask onions and charge $1 I never see pho restaurant charge onions Service was so so kindly so so Review is very good for food but Restaurant feeling no good No recommend it.
Phan's Garden has been a local gem for decades. The exterior and interior has seen better days, the decor is all original from when they probably first opened. Don't expect any modern or sleek design, you're here for the food. The menu has Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The Fried Dumplings here are the best, comparable if not better than ones you'd find in NYC's Chinatown. The Vietnamese staples like Pho, Banh Xeo, Banh Cuon and Spring Rolls are top notch. My absolute favorite dish is the B12A, Crispy Noodles with a Seafood Stir Fry over it. Among the Chinese dishes, you can't go wrong with any of their fried rice dishes, their sweet and sour chicken has huge pieces of perfectly fried chicken. The fried rice here has hints of that smoky "wok hei" flavor, infused into food only by way of expert wok work. That's how you know it's legit. Phan's Garden is also 100% in their consistency. We've been coming here for years and each time we visit, the food is made the same way every single time. The quality of their dishes remains intact despite the age of the business. Also, I don't blame them for automatically adding gratuity. Many places have the right to do that and it's usually because they've been stiffed a lot in the past - not because they are trying to be greedy. The workers here are the kindest, most gentle people. The gratuity fee is literally 15% of the bill which is the bare minimum you should be tipping for dine in anyways. They've pivoted to use styrofoam cups for drinks, but still use real utensils and plates which seems odd to me. I think they should use real cups as well. The server will place your food on a nearby table to avoid contact so that you can pick it up and place it in front of you. Seeing that most of the staff here are also older in age, I'm glad they've found a way to adapt to these times.
Pho broth taste like nothing. Water taste better. No service was provided either I had to go ask for stuff. When I said the broth was plain, he proceed to ignore me. Zero star
The food was very good. I had some crab rangoon and spring rolls. The crab rangoon was light and crispy just the way I like it. The spring rolls were fresh and clean tasting. The hostess was very nice and attentive. Overall, a good experience.
Always a pleasant experience eating at Phan's! Friendly staff and of course great food. Couple of things to note! This place really needs a make over. Furniture has seen better days and is border line in need of repair. Lastly! The prices have gone up quite a bit, I guess it's the times we live in!
Pho lacked flavor. Restaurant was pretty old and had a smell to it.
We strayed away from Jing's on E. Buffalo to try something new and different and boy was that a terrible mistake. We ordered to go two Spring Rolls, two Vietnamese Rolls and the pork & shrimp fried rice from Phan's Garden. Not only was the food horrible, but they only provided one packet of soy sauce so we couldn't even doctor up the wretched taste. Never again will we order from this place.
I parked in their parking lot and I wasn't there for more than 20 minutes before my truck was broken into. Food wasn't worth it. It was 2pm in the afternoon.Food: 4/5
If ever in Milwaukee, please make it a point to go to Phan's. The food is amazing and the staff is even better.Food: 5/5
