This is the best pharmacy I've been to in Portland. I've been treated with kindness and compassion compassion being a tough trait to really actually convey with people who work really, really hard there to make it into more of a wellness center. The pharmacists and technicians are usually quite friendly and I think it's important to have compassion for them that they haven't had central A/C all summer I know my blood boils in summer, as every human's does and that the pharmacy underwent heavy construction where they lost all data. I will keep coming back here for the duration of the time I live in Portland. Blessings, all! Addendum: They've had every medication I've needed, even rare ones coming in more quickly than superstores like Walgreens and Fred Meyer.
I’ve been a Pharmaca customer since they opened 20+ years ago, and I have always felt well cared for by staff there. Since it was bought by Medley, both service and competency have suffered. I’ve had three rxs refilled so far since Medley took over. The first one, they had none in stock, despite it being a commonly used med. The second, when I went to pick it up, it was given to me with another med which I hadn’t ordered. The third and you’re out! time, they gave me 108 pills instead of 180 for a 90-day, 2x/day rx. When I tried to call today, no one in the pharmacy answered, and I was transferred to the pharmacist's voicemail, which was full and couldn’t accept messages. They have lost my trust and my business.
I had no problems here when I was getting my meds in person but I moved out of state and needed to transfer my prescription. It should have been 1 phone call, easy peasy but they don't answer the phone no matter how many times I call or wait on hold! Their website only let's you transfer to another pharmaca and there are none in my area. I work retail so I'm very patient with customer service and maybe their phones are broken but it's very frustrating and could be dangerous if someone can't get their medicine.
From 2004 to about 2014 this was an awesome pharmacy. Jim, James, and Shawn knew their customers and operated a solid business. Medly Pharmacy out of Jersey purchased it last year, by which time Pharmaca's days of competency were already in the past. Now, it's just brutal. Press 3 for Pharmacist: the voice mail is full >50%. If you ever do get to the vm you may or may not get a callback. And they will get your Rx wrong - seriously - nobody at the uptown unit seems to know what the heck is ever going on. The people at Pharmaca just plainly do not care and I hope for a DEA audit soon for all our sakes. I tried Lloyd Center Pharmacy in January for four months ISO an alt, but Lloyd has its own dilatory process and inconvenient service problems. So back to this dumpster fire; lucky me, but you've been warned.
Long time customer of this pharmacy. In last several weeks customer service has imploded. I have walked out 3 times after waiting over 15 minutes with no hope of being served. Pharmacy staff does not seem to understand that customer service should always be the priority. No matter what you do, customers sign your paycheck. No customers means no paycheck.
I understand that pharmacies are under a heavy demand right now. But I believe they can do better than this location. My doctor's office called in a prescription on a Tuesday afternoon. I stopped in Wednesday mid-day and had a few conversations with the staff that could not find the prescription. I was eventually told that they would have it ready in the next hour and they confirmed they had my number and would text if there were any issues. I told them no problem, I would just come back on Thursday or Friday. When I came in Friday morning, they did not have it ready and again needed time to find it in their system. I waited in the store for them to fill it and when I checked out, the copay was 5X what it should have been. I was confused, and only after I asked why it was so expensive did they tell me that the coupon that the doctor uses for this prescription did not work. I called my doctor's office, they said it is a manufacturer coupon and the process is usually seamless. So, my doctor called it into another local pharmacy that filled it same day without issue. The most disappointing part was how difficult every interaction was. The staff was curt and unsympathetic at every opportunity.
I parked in the lot to go inside this morning and a woman who works there pulled up next to me and opened her door, slamming it into my mirror and then proceeding to say the F word my way several times in a very aggressive manner. She has purple hair pulled back and was wearing a uniform. After doing so, she walked into Pharmaca. I have shopped here for years but after this experience, I won’t be back. Please hire people who at a minimum are respectful to others.
Went in to purchase some probiotics after checking them out online on pharmaca.com on Sunday January 16th, 2022 around 4:30pm The lady working the register would not honor their online pricing. I’ve never heard of this before and it is extremely misleading. Why post the price online if the product is going to be a different price in store.
I posted a review regard rude staff two months ago... Kudos to the management for addressing the issue. Since I posted the review, I have had great experiences when I come in. I think the store has always had a good selection, and I am glad to see that they care about how customers are treated! Still and always a great pharmacy, too.
Just spoke with Robin to get my RX transferred over. She was SO helpful and nice. So far, my experience with this pharmacy is A+.
