We drove 12 hours from Virginia to Birmingham, Alabama for a road trip and decided to visit the Pho Place Restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who lives just 10 minutes away. Coming from a town known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, we didn’t have high hopes for a smaller town like Birmingham. However, to our surprise, the Pho was perfectly executed and the accompanying vegetables were incredibly fresh. Although the BBH was just average, the restaurant boasts a lovely decor, is brightly lit, and immaculately clean. The service was exceptionally friendly, adding to an overall amazing experience. A well-deserved 5 stars!
The PHO is surprisingly delicious! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, along with great service and the delicious hot food ! Great price too. You must try the Wings as an appetizer , Yummy!
Want to find the best Pho noodle in town? Pho Place is where you should go. I love the fresh pho noodle. It is exactly what I am looking for the leathery noodles, not too soft as general pho noodles elsewhere. The soup was amazing and very good seasoned and was simmered from the beef bones. You can order more beef meat balls as the favorite topping. The vegetables also have a bonus point for the overall meal. The owners are so friendly and will welcome you with the smiles. The price is . this Pho Place. Parking: Free parking lots. Kid-friendliness: Clean place. Wheelchair accessibility: Good location.
Atmosphere was new, clean, pretty, and smelled really nice inside. Food and drinks came out super fast, we got huge portions, and they tasted great. 10/10 Dietary restrictions: They asked about dietary restrictions which was nice.
I have been to Vietnam twice so the Pho is not really in the same league but it is above average for the US. I do not really understand all of the hate for Derrick. He may not be that outgoing but he was very effecient and prompt. My girlfriend who is Vietnamese noticed that the broth is a darker than it is in Vietnam. The second picture below is the best Pho I had in Hanoi. The first is the Pho Place.
I really enjoyed the bowl of pho’ and spring rolls here. Service isn’t as engaging as it could be, but enough to get an order in. I’d like to go again when in the area.
While on a trip to North Alabama we looked for a place to try that was close to the hotel. We searched and came across Pho Place. Name says it all. The Pho was great. Nice broth with rare beef. My wife had the chicken hot pot. I love Pho and this is as good as other great places I have tried. The meal was excellent for the value. I will be going back the next time I am in the area.
Always a W - brought my momma since we were craving something warm w the cold snap and this hitthespot We ordered the extra large to share so we even had some to take w us and even that slapped reheated! Derrick is always great w service and has put me on to some new things
The pho hit the spot! We also ordered steamed dumplings. Everything was delicious and piping hot! The service was great, and the space was nice.Food: 5/5
Honestly we have gone here before and have had good experiences, but this last time we came in and it was 8pm and yes you close at 9 but within walking in literally 2 minutes in they had two different workers ask us if we were ready to order and told us the “ kitchen closes in 10 minutes “ and spent every minute giving us looks watching us eat and try to make us uncomfortable but that was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had and it makes me think of looking for a new place . And the workers would hover around us trying to rush us. Like you work in a customer service business , customers shouldn’t feel pressured and should feel more welcomed and not rush us every second of the day because you guys close in a hour.
