One of the best customer experiences I have ever had. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about where you are at in your photography journey and needs. They knew many customers by name as soon as they walked in. Well worth the drive we took to get to them. If you are thinking about just ordering equipment online, DON"T. The knowledge and experience of the people at Photo Pro and the ability to try out the equipment before making a big investment is well worth your time and money. They also offer classes which I am looking forward to attending in the future. Here is my full experience:
I was in search of a camera store so that I could try out a camera and lens that I was considering for purchase. The Des Moines camera store closed last year so I found photo pro online, which was about an hour and 45 minutes away from where I live. I called the day before I expected to travel there to see if they had the camera and lens I wanted to try in their rental equipment so I could test it out in the store. I also called see if they had the camera and lens brand new in stock so that I could buy it if I liked it. I spoke with the owner, and he was very personable and accommodating. The camera was rented out already so he told me I could use his personal camera (which happened to be the one I wanted) and the rental lens in stock to try out. The camera I wanted was pretty popular and sold out at the store but he told they already had ordered more and that he would let me know as soon as he got them in. He did not disappoint! I came in this morning and tried out the equipment. He spent a good hour and a half with me showing me some things about the camera as well as how I would use it in my area of photography. He showed me a lens protector as well as an expo disc (which works like a gray card but much easier) and how to use them. I purchased the lens,expo disc, and lens protector. The owner is setting aside the camera I want when they get the order in and will call me when it is ready.

Wonderful customer service today at PhotoPro! They were able to identify and fix the problem I was having with my Nikon camera right on the spot. Thankfully it was an adjustment and not something that needed repair. Dave then went above and beyond by showing me how to further adjust the aperture and shutter settings to capture better photos. He also cleaned the lens and the internal areas of my camera. I am so excited to try the things he suggested. Very helpful staff that are so knowledgeable and more than willing to share it with their customers. Thank you PhotoPro! So glad to have you here in town!

This place is awesome! Highly skilled staff and extremely helpful and patient. Always friendly and customer service rules. It's the best place in town don't even think about going anywhere else. Especially helpful to over 60 crowd with technology. Big shout out to photo pro!! They're got what you want and need.

I cannot say enough positive glowing things about the wonderful staff at Photopro! Over the last decade that I've been a professional freelance photographer there have been many bumps in the road and Photopro has been there at every turn! They have been so helpful, kind, and generous and have always worked above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.
Just recently they spent literally hours with me trying to trouble shoot my studio lights that suddenly weren't firing, (the day before a big shoot and I was panicking!) and they didn't charge me a dime for the help! These particular lights I hadn't even purchased from them, but bought second hand from another photographer! Buying your equipment, whether your a seasoned pro or hobbyist or getting a gift for a shutterbug you can't go wrong by stopping in at Photopro.
Might I add, that yes, it might cost a tiny bit more to shop here, but in return they will help you learn how to use it, and if anything breaks or malfunctions for any reason they have got your back. In the camera world it is definitely a get what you pay for scenario and the service they provide is priceless! Shop local with confidence, feel good about supporting your community, and in return have the security of this amazing, knowledgeable and talented staff at your side!

I stopped for an SD card and struck up a conversation with Dave. Amazing is all I can say. He gave me great examples of how to take better shots. I went in a customer and left feeling very grateful for the stop and more knowledgeable! I will definitely be back to share what I learned.
