One of our favorite go to breakfast restaurants. Their breakfast food is always great and they have gluten-free options. Their gluten-free pancakes are so good. You don’t even know how excited I was…. I can never find GF pancakes anywhere. The sandwiches are great too. This gluten-free BLT hit the spot. All the little pig statues around the restaurant and at the register are such a cute touch too.
All I can say is WOW. Huge portions and amazing food. I wish I could take the whole restaurant back to Indiana with me when I go home. Probably the best bacon I've ever had in my lifetime. Everything was delicious. Vikki was amazing! She was so kind and funny and she knew the menu which really helped us decide what we wanted considering we had never been here before. Thanks so much for the great experience and memories. Their gift shop is so cute.
Let's start by saying my 3 stars isn't there to give the restaurant a bad mark, more to just firmly rank it in a category; chain diners. On my last visit I heard one person say it was the best breakfast they have had in a long time. Good on them, but it made me want to ask what were they eating for breakfast. There are plusses and minuses to every chain diner. Plusses here were the quick seating, table was... cleanenough, food came out fast and the service was friendly and attentive. Minuses were that you found the same standard things you find at every Denny's, Shari's, Elmer's, Black Bear, etc. Rehydrated potatoes for hash browns that were only crisp on the outside. Hollandaise and gravy that had to come from a can. It definitely sits at the top of the heap of chain diners, but in the end, don't expect anything but basic, cost effective food.
Pig N' Pancake is a little gem on 122nd Street in NE Portland. The food is straightforward with diner essentials for breakfast and a few things thrown in for flair such as the sourdough pancakes and the Kielbasa skillet. The portions are satisfactory and the service can be very good or just good depending on how busy they are. The prices are moderate and the pig motif is fun. It is just a good all around place for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
The place is jam Packed. Our was fairly distant from others. Gravy was a bit runny, eggs were perfect. And actual honey. Think KFC... the lip stick on the water glass during a pandemic was unexpected but no apology. Just a fresh glass.
Breakfast was really good. The GF pancakes were really tasty. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. It was a little busy but, we didn't have to wait a long time for our food. The decorations inside were interesting. I didn't the the water was super hot in the bathroom but, be careful they do have a sign saying water is hot. They probably have a booster for the dishwasher if that is the case please take young children to wash hands as they could get hurt. Vegetarian options: They have plenty of options. Kid-friendliness: Who does love breakfast and a cute restaurant. Parking: Lots of parking Dietary restrictions: GF pancakes
Fantastic gluten free pancakes! Tried the buttermilk stack and the Hawaiian with pineapple-orange sauce stack with fried eggs on the side. Service was great, atmosphere was authentic retro charm and clean. #forfoodssakekc
Piggy & I went for breakfast Poached eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, decaf' coffee Lisa was our great waitress. She served us last time I had eggs Benedict too. Great service & lots of smiles, so "Piggy" moved in and I came home. I may have to go visit another day. Love, "D"-Pork Liker!!!!!!
I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and it was awful. The French toast bread wasn't even fresh and it was smooshed so much it looked like plain bread, they had to double up with more smooshed bread to make it presentable. Just make it fresh next time! It was soggy nastiness. I always loved coming here, but not anymore, or maybe not order the Monte again. Our server was barely there, checked on us maybe 2 times, kept her male and other white customers entertained and passed us every time. My drink was empty almost the whole time, then when we were done, that's when she asked if I wanted a refill... I didn't care for the discriminating service. Fix it.
Look the food it great, but the owner needs to get out of the main are a or seriously change her attitude. The older lady behind the counter people mention is the owner. The waitress confirmed that a LOT of people complian a lit her, but no one can do anything about it.
