Pink Olive Park Slope

I love this shop and treat it as a go-to for quick birthday gifts for friends. (Although I usually leave with things in hand for myself, too!) Pretty stationary, calendars, phone cases, prints, and little knick knacks galore.

They sell great gifts but have terrible customer service. It's a shame because it's around the corner from me but I can't keep going there given how rude they are. I'm a huge fan of supporting local but only when the store supports the people who live in the community. Without good service I've been forced to find a similar gift shop further down 5th.

Why wouldn't a gift store have earlier opening hours during the holidays? I've also tried to go later in the day in the past and they've had a "back in 5 minutes" sign on the door. How can you run a business if you're never open?

I don't ever write reviews, but I bought a book here and just realized, as I wrapped it, that Pink Olive was charging TWENTY PERCENT MORE than the printed price on the book. Plus Sales Tax, of course. And they avoid having to "admit" that putting their store's sticker on top of the manufacturer's. We all know that we could probably buy things cheaper online, but even at the price-gouging airport they only charge the printed price on books and magazines! Plus they had poor customer service. So.... I warn you away.

Nice staff and interesting items. Expensive. The return policy is strict.
