The clerk here older dude, long beard, braids made me and another customer uncomfortable while talking on the phone. He was talking about the Black Lives Matter movement and how they "made themselves a political party". He then proceeded to talk about the fella in front of me after he left, saying he "clearly didn't agree" that Black Lives Matter were "bad actors" and that they should never have come to Portland. I do not like this fella, and if you have one whit of social awareness, you should not come to this store.
Walking in to my local Plaid Pantry is like walking into a friend's house. I have a great report with all the cashiers and they not only know my name, they also know what I'm likely to buy and often have it ready for me at the counter when I walk in the door. More than once, I was finishing a phone call in my car and when I walked in, I said hello, and there was my favorite beer and cigarettes on the counter. It's not a huge deal, but it's little things like that that ensure that I will never go anywhere else. Thanks guys!
Tim, and every other evening 3rd shift associate is so kind and patient. Though, not far from burnside and grand plaid, it is a WORLD of difference. I appreciate all y’all. Working 3rds, especially at a connivence store is hard, dedicated work. Truly admirable staff at this location. Oh and plaid has decent deals if y’all didn’t already know. I wouldn’t go to them other than being 24/7 if they didn’t have decent prices. That being said I go 24/7 as it’s close to my dwelling and fairly priced and again a friendly crew always greets me.
Listen if you don't like the public but maybe don't accept a job that deals with the public. I don't really feel like I should have to put up with someone's attitude just to buy a couple snacks. I don't care if you smile or not but the customers shouldn't be made to feel like they are inconveniencing the cashier to buy something at the convenience store. I'm surprised Plaid Pantry has let this go on for so long.
I get a six pack here all the time. The staff are hilarious. Ask one how he's doing and you'll get "livin' the dream." Every single time. Another once played football for Hawaii. Always fun banter that makes it better than your average cornerstone stop. The woman who runs it, there during the day, ID'd me once. Which I found cute. My drinking age -- the years since I turned 21 -- is 28.
The big heavy metal guy works in the evening always acts annoyed when we’re in there or when he rings us up. I have no idea why, always kind and respectful to him. You don’t even have to be friendly just don’t act like we woke you from your bed and asked you to come up and ring in our purchases. Go work in a warehouse if u hate your job and can’t be semi professional. Good deals but I’ll never go back. He makes me too uncomfortable. Luckily I can just go across the street
Much better than the nearby burnside location. It’s actually open during it’s stated hours and all the staff have a sense of humor
Clean, nice staff during the afternoon. It's a convenience store, so things are more expensive than a grocery store, but selection is good.
I have loved going into this place and buying little snacks like chips and a soda just a good place to walk and grab a quick in and out
I love it there great environment
