I heard so many good things about Platos closet, so I was obviously excited to see how this system works. This was also the closest one to me. I read on their website of what they were looking for, such as different t-shirts, jeans, name brands, stuff that people would want, or that's in style. So I did some research and then after getting a pretty good idea, I sorted through my clothes to get 2 hampers full of nice name brand clothes. This includes women's and men's clothes, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, cardigans, jackets, sweaters, brands like Polo, Abercrombie, Hollister, Levi's, American Eagle, H&M, Michael Kors, Old Navy, Nike, etc. So I loaded up my clothes, folded, and freshly washed, and drove over and dropped of my clothes. Found out there would be a day wait, so I still left them there and signed in. Said they would message me when to come back. I get a message middle of the next day, and drive about 30 minutes to see what their offer was. I arrive and they pull out 4 items they wanted.... out of the over 75 items I brought they picked out 4, which were very obscure and weird items that they decided to choose. They gave me 2 dollars for each item, for a total of 8 dollars. I was shocked. I stood there and looked at the cashier. I figured they would have taken some jeans, or nice t-shirts, of which they took none. To be disappointed is an understatement. I will never go back to a platos closet if this is the service they provide. If they don't want specific items, list it on the website better, or inform me before I give you all my items. I wasted my time, and the 8 bucks only paid for my gas there and back... didn't know what to expect before going there. But I definitely know what to expect now.
I always come to this location to turn in clothes because they have a bigger selection of clothes, they also go through the clothes really fast and give fair prices.
that's just TERRIBLE !!!! it was not my first time giving away my things to Platos, but what happened this time is horrible. I took the things, they took them from me and said that they would send messages when to pick them up. 2 days passed, there was no message, I drove into the store. The girl told me that there were 20 more people ahead of me, as they look at my things, they will inform me. I asked her again, you will send messages, the girl said YES! My phone number and e-mail are in their system. A month has passed and nothing has been sent to me. Today I went to the store, the girl could not find me on the computer for a long time, and then, as it turned out, they took my things to Donations!!!!! I had a big box and a bag and 2 more pairs of shoes!!! and for that I was given $15 and apologized!!!! Are you seriously????? I only had one container that cost $15 not to mention the amount of stuff I brought!!!! Or maybe they left all these things to themselves???? $15 is not a bad price they bailed out!!!!
i scheduled an appointment and on the website it would take about 30-40 minutes to go through my items and it took them 2 HOURS! I wish i would have known this beforehand so that i would have gone home instead of getting groceries and having all of the frozen items melt in my car. Also i had brand new items that still had the tags on them and some really trendy pieces that they didn’t decide to take but if you take a look throughout their store they have the most ugly and gross pieces. like why do they have about 100 corduroy skirts? it’s not 2016. i would not recommend going here if you actually have cute things.
I wish I could leave negative stars. This place is overly priced for dirty dirty dirty clothes. Also went to try on a pair of shoes and there was a sock stuffed in the toe. Goodwill is better and cheaper, my friends wanted to go and was disappointed, as I expected it to be.
Review from perceptive of a seller, not buyer: I took a huge tub of clothes no more than three years old to the location in westerville and they took none of it. Not only that, the store is run down and the employees were curt. I take the exact same tub to this location and they say a half hour so I come back in 40 minutes. She wasn’t ready and apologized profusely I told her no need. When she was done, she tracked me down in the clean, updated, bright store to inform me. Of the tub that the westerville location wanted none of, they took maybe 5-10 things I didn’t even look through it and gave me $26. I will never go to the westerville location again.
I hate spending money on my clothes. And honestly there are not many options for selling my used clothes, so I feel like if they offer me a small amount for an item, it’s better than nothing. Each time I’ve gone to shop, there are always great options for fair prices...I will continue to shop at this location!
Worst customer service I ever experienced! The staff is the rudest and the most stand-offish staff i have ever encountered. The owner isn't very nice either. Great selection of clothes, but yet the meanest employees. I shop there out of convenience but I dread going in every time. Its just not how you're supposed to treat people when it comes to selling goods. Shape up or close it up.
They need to be more specific on what they buy, according to the website it's very vague"We buy gently used teen and young adult style clothing and accessories that are name brands, cool, hip, trendy, clean and in good condition", when I arrived I was told they only take in items that are less than two years old. I had a large amount of clothes, a lot of it never even worn. They didn't take any of it which shocked me because browsing through the store almost all my stuff was in the same condition and styles as what was on the shelf. Apparently unless you just stole the clothes from Easton and need money to do hood-rat stuff with your friends they don't want none of it. This is the waste of time life gives me when I try to sell decent clothes instead of donate it. Luckily Amvets had a drop-off nearby and I suggest you save yourself the time and just donate the clothes unless you're looking to get $5 for the Chanel handbag you stole.
I used to love shopping at this platos closet years ago. Now everything is overpriced. You'll walk out in a bad mood. They price items the same price almost as in store. Why would I buy used when I can pay the same amount for new at the mall? It's extremely dirty and always has been. I never take my clothes there anymore either. I walk in with tons of clothes, name brands, no flaws and they offer me like $5. Then I go to look around and tons of items have massive stains, horrid quality and rips? Their logic makes 0 sense to me.
