Tastes good and fresh and the prices are reasonable. Not bad
Tasted horrible. Shrimp and chicken were cooked last year and the noodles were cooked last week. Photo shows the food AFTER we are done with it. AVOID AT ALL COST!
Avoid this place if you can. Disgusting food, dirty location and horrible service. Welcome to New York! Pho Bo completely tasteless and burned PadThai. Couldn‘t finish it.
Had a lot of dumplings a lot of places. The fried dumplings here resembled none of those. This might be the only bad review I've left for a restaurant. It was just shocking how something so simple can be made inedible.
The service was amazing both the server & what we believed was the owner made small talk with us and were very kind. They were closing soon but they made time for us and gave us time to order and eat at our pace. I had the Basil noodles and the shrimp dumplings and everything was delicious. Washed it down with a cold tiger beer and my night was made. Great prices and they cook quickly.
OK, I’m not sure how this place got a 3.7. Unfortunately my colleagues food was terrible. Maybe it was a one time mistake. He ordered dumplings, however the dumplings were like meat paste that was undercooked and dry with very little taste. He had to throw the dumplings away, that’s how bad it was. I was a little suspicious, because the name of the place was plump dumpling, however it’s part of a larger restaurant called love mama. Now I will say of the owners and workers seemed nice, But they really should go to other real dumpling places to get a sense of what good healthy cooked dumplings are. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. Apparently others have gone there and they rated the place a 3.7 and for those I guess the food is pretty good. Not for us.
Deleicous food and wonderful service. The owners and family/ staff were funny and attentive- creating a warm atmosphere. The Malaysian dishes are perfect, specifically the Roti and curries. A great place to share a mixture of dishes and watch the street go by.
I have to say Plump Dumplings excel in their curry noodle soup and homemade dumplings. The owner is Malaysian Cantonese and therefore, their curry noodle soup with bbq pork is quite authentic and I love the spice. The dumplings are huge although the dough is a little too thick in my opinion. It is still pretty good in the area. The other dishes are alright so I would recommend getting either dumplings or the curry soup. They are almost always open regardless of weather. So you can always count on them when you are hungry in the storm!
Used to be my favorite but they must have changed management. Terrible service, dumplings are overly breaded and tasteless filled with mystery meat, food order is always wrong and when you ask for them to exchange it for what you ordered they yell and hang up the phone. Actually yell at you and hang up the phone, it happened on two separate occasions when they had gotten my delivery order wrong. I have never written a review before and made an account specifically to vent about how awful this place is. Do yourself a favor and go to the another one of the 15 dumpling shops in the east village.
I believe the reviews for s place is more for the Dumpling place, but LOVE MAMAK recently joined with them? It's really confusing, but this place now offers you Thai, Malaysian, and Vietnamese cuisine. However, I've never tried / seen the food truck around the city. The restaurant brick and mortar was definitely not as exciting as the other reviews are talking about. The food is a little bit above average, but even that isn't really worth going back again because there are plenty of more authentic malay, thai, viet food in Elmhurst, queens. The staff there were speaking Cantonese with each other and they were all wrapping dumplings out in the dining area. That's normal behavior for Asian restaurants. Lunch hour here wasn't that crowded and we got to sit down quickly. I ordered the lunch special 9.95 for an appetizer and entree. Don't be fooled though ... your spring roll order will actually only be one tiny spring roll that fits on one of those condiment saucers. I laughed out loud when the waiter brought it to our table. I had no words because I've never seen such a tiny spring roll. The taste of it wasn't that exciting, but tasted like those americanized Chinese take out spring rolls. There wasn't even sauce for it. However, that's okay because it was really only ONE spring roll. Any amount of sauce would have been too much for that order. My fried dumplings were pretty tasty and yes it is a bit smaller... two dumplings to be exact and also on a condiment saucer. The dumpling shape was a lot prettier than the average ones, more like a boxy flowery shape. Tasty! Dont' forget to check in on yelp for a free thai iced tea! I ordered the curry laksa -- it's with curry noodle soup broth with noodles. I forgot that this dish has seafood in it.. on the lunch menu side it doesn't even list the seafood. I didn't bother to tell the waiter because I remembered after I saw it arrive on my table that it is a seafood dish.. although here, you had the option to add chicken to it... which is what I did ... weird hah! The shrimps are cut in half and it was a mirage that it looked like they gave you many pieces ... the soup was delicious and hit the spot. I could have done without the seafood! After we ate, the waiter asked us "you look hungry still, would you like to order more food?" I know he is trying to be funny and make us order more -- but it may be offensive to someone one day... just watch..
