Pompei Pizza

On a rainy day while in jersey city I decided to opt not to cook and have a pizza for dinner. As I drove I found Pompeii pizza was close so I decided to give it a try. At first sight I was impressed because they have two size pies large and extra large I opted for the extra and it's pretty big. The taste is ok. In my opinion the sauce needs to be a bit sweeter than tangy. The crust is good and the cheese is ok. The price is great 17 for a big plain pie. The staff is really nice You can eat in or take out. For a last minute grab and go this pizza is local and fast. I still have to try their sandwiches and see how they are.

They make an amazing slice of pizza and the Buffalo chicken is to die for. Rating a 3 because you absolutely must order by phone or in person if you are making an order after 6 or they will cancel your order. I have had my ordered canceled multiple times on Seamless and on Slice because they suddenly closed according to those apps.

The food here is pretty good. My favorite is the chicken pasta with garlic oil and broccoli, 10/10! Literally has me in a chokehold. Absolutely delicious. Please don’t ever remove it from the menu!

I really like Pompei pizza, but their hours are so confusing. Food is great! But some days they seem to just not open. When they are it's only open until 7 and closed on Sundays the biggest pizza day for football. Also, too much Red Sox stuff hanging up, lol. That won't keep me from grabbing their good food though. It's just a coin toss as to whether they'll be open or not. Sometimes they take my order and the metal gate is still down when I go to pick it up! Crazy. I guess they still make a living though.

I have been ordering pizza from Pompei for years. I placed an order and then called back to get the total and when I asked why the prices was so high they said there was an additional price for Garlic of $3.50. The additional prices was not the problem for me, it was the answer I got when I told them that this should be told to the customer at time of the purchase. The response I received from the employee was "the prices are in the internet". I asked to speak to the owner. I got the exact same response from the owner with an additional comment of "Buddy". I told him that's not a way to talk to a customer and not to call me "Buddy" and he said "Buddy do you want the order or not". Certainly I did not want the order after being spoken to in such a disrespectful way. That is not the way you speak to your customer, let alone one that has been ordering for year. I will never order from them again. If you deserve to be treated with respect and I am sure everyone does, I don't recommend you visit Pompei Pizza in Jersey City. They are far from providing the service customers deserve!

Not gonna lie, I've got a belly full of pizza right now and I'm a happy dude, really enjoyed the pie: crust is crusty and bubbly, on the thinner side if that's your jam as it is mine this is the joint. Delivery was quick for a Friday and the delivery guy was friendly and efficient, we'll be ordering again! Vegetarian options: Margarita pizza was great, basil was fresh! Kid-friendliness: It's pizza, yo. Kids love pizza.

Owner was extremely disrespectful, rude and inconsiderate. Prices for same order changes each time you order going up and down. When I asked employee about extra fees for toppings they said I can check the prices online which is ridiculous since they should know. For this I rather go downtown and pick up pizza from Pizzeria Las Americas which are a lot better pizza wise and customer service manners.

Kitchen closes an hour & a half before closing, ordered & was charged for a large pie but given a medium pie instead, this use to be a great pizzeria but I’ve sensed a lack in customer service over the years

The pizza was good and service was great. I called to order a pie for takeout 5 minutes before closing, and the girl took my order anyway and was super friendly about it. Pizza was ready in 15 min, fresh and delicious!
