The Hot pots and snacks here are really good. They use an online ordering system where you place your order on your phone even when dining in. This is nice as it let's you take your time when ordering and you can even add to your order even while eating. Ironically, the system does not accept payment so you still need to do that with the waitress.
One of the best hot pot spot ever! We got the house special which comes a bit with everything and it was super delicious. Along with the fried calamari and takoyaki it was perfect! The downside is the waiting list since the place accommodates small but not too bad and is worth the wait.
This place is pretty good! I would say anyone that likes Boiling Point, this is a great alternative. It isn’t franchised as far as I know, and the soup I believe feels more natural. Maybe there is less msg or something. The few times I have ordered here, it has been quite decent, the people taking order or collecting payment could definitely be nicer though. Food I usually order the Japanese Miso, and would recommend that to anyone that visits here. If you get to go, they pack it in a way where is is white easy for you to open and get ready to eat. Even if you order vermicelli, it is nicely packed where you can just dump it in your soup. There is a LOT of food, to the point where I can use the rest of the broth and make another soup out of it. I think the only thing better is that they could use just a little better shrimp, so that it still feels fresh. They have a bean sauce as well as a garlic sauce that comes with each soup similar to Boiling Point, and it is just as good! One day I will try some of the other soups, but it is quite hard since I am not able to come here that often. We will see next time
The satay beef pot was everything I had hoped it would be and then some! About $19 before tip for just the hot pot and rice but if you leave hungry, you should become a competitive eater. Ambience was nice and bathrooms were clean. Tea Bar was not in service the night I went.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoCurbside pickup: No
Expected better and portions were smaller than their competitors. Especially didn't like the paper goods for dishes in a hot pot restaurant and drinking my soup with a tiny plastic spoon. Pandemic is over, stop making us feel like we're standing and eating outside in the cold.Food: 3/5
'm just gonna say it... Pot on Fire is the ex your Boiling Point tells you not to worry about. Pot on Fire is everything I wished Boiling Point had. Why? Because the broth is absolutely magical and the toppings leave me satisfied. There's so much flavor in each spoon I had to stop and say wow after every other sip and bite. I would highly recommend getting the Korean Kimchi Pot or the Thai Style Pot. I'm not too great with spicy foods and I could barely handle the medium spicy level. I'd definitely get the mild next time.
This review is for the Togo order. We ordered total of 5 hot pot, there's nothing indicate which pot is what flavor and most of them look similar. Do you expect for us to stir around each other's lunch to figure out what flavor or spiciness ???? Also the grass noodle is so under cook I understand it doesn't taste good if it's over cook.. that it needs to be put back into microwave. There's a piece of broccoli in my order that looks like it's been bite by other people...
This place was great. When sited, they bring water to you right away without even asking. Not tap water. Lemon water, which is nice. No need to order from the waiter or waitress. Everything can be done on the phone. Unless one enjoys the old fashion way. Just call them over to order. Food comes out rather quickly and it is good and hot. Be careful of the fire and hot soup if you have a little one. One pot is enough for two, but I see most people order one each. Which is nice, so many different pots to choose from. Lots of good add-ons as well. When done. Just pay the bill with your phone or call the waiter to a waitress over. Very enjoyable experience and good food. Oh, if one wishes to have more soup. Just ask. They will bring it over without any extra charge: Soup is good!
Went here today, sat down. Nobody acknowledged us. Sat down for 20 minutes without a word said to us and the lady next to us was nice enough to tell us that we have to scan the code and order through an app. No one working there was kind enough to communicate that or help us. We used the app and STILL nothing came out, another 20 minutes. No one asked to take our order or at least get us drinks, check on our food, anything. We sat there looking like idiots while the waiters working there glanced at us every so often pretending they were too busy. Other customers coming in after us, being helped before us. Waisted my lunch break coming here. Absolutely HORRIBLE service.
THIS PLACE IS RECOMMENDED. Tried out this place after a disappointing first time visit at the other near-by Hot Pot restaurant, hands down Pot On Fire is clearly a much better choice in the Chino Hills area. What make it stand out is the vast choices of soup base, the meat is lean, nicely trimmed, the portion is satisfying, unlike the other place I long for more even with another side order of meat. I ordered the Sukiyaki Pot, it was very tasty. The staffs were friendly, service was prompt and attentive, and the price is fair. I will be a return customer for sure.
