The classes are well guided. The instructors know their stuff. The music used during class is different from the traditional Yoga studios, I prefer it this way. The temperature is good in the hot room. The instructors have been helpful and assisted me in several poses. I would recommend this studio for the above reasons. I would also suggest to take as many classes as possible at this studio and other studios. Yoga is personal, and the instructors do create the experience as well as the crowd that attends the classes. Find a teachers and a studio you love, it will keep you coming back for more which for your greatest benefit!
After much prodding with my wife to join her at Garden State Yoga, I decided to give in and took my first hot yoga class 2 months ago. I am now hooked! This is in large part due to the environment of the studio, the instructors and the students. Everyone has been super friendly and the beginner jitters I experienced on my first day have given way to a great experience. From my perspective - as a beginner - this is a great studio to stretch your yoga wings!
I started practicing yoga about 5 years ago but had never tried hot yoga until 3 years ago when i took my first class at Powerflow Yoga in Bloomfield. I was immediately hooked. The class is challenging and every instructor works with you to help improve your practice and get the most out of every session. As a college student i don’t have the opportunity to go to many other hot yoga studios and while i have tried other places i always find myself coming back to powerflow. The environment is electric, the vibes are high, and i always leave feeling stronger and more positive than i came in.
I attended the Bob Marley Flow class on the coldest night this winter. The studio was nice. It had changing rooms, showers, a water station, and free mats. The actual class was extremely full. I've never been in such a tight class before. The class was challenging for me a good thing and I was feeling it two days after. The lights were low and candles were placed on the window sills. Bob Marley was the soundtrack and it was fun singing Marley during the flow. The instructor I think he was the owner was great. He didn't get to existential with his message to the class and really focused on the breathing. It was a fun experience!
This place has gone way down hill these days. I’ve been practicing for years and was a member back when it was Garden State. It use to feel like my yoga “home”... close knit community. Everyone has left ... even a lot of the teachers. There is no care for the students. It’s all about the business chain. The manager is attitudinal about any feedback. The teachers are now certified five minutes ago and now they “teach away” ... you think your taking one teacher - you show up and it’s a sub a lot these days. They charge for mats, expensive water and now the price of an individual class is expensive. It’s a business chain money maker and at a time when there is a yoga studio on every corner instead of upping their game ... for the birds! It’s a shame. Plus, it’s really convenient to my job! Bummer
Beautiful studio, quality instructors. Very clean and well maintained. The manager Matthew is friendly and welcoming. So far I have especially enjoyed Kristin, Becky and Matthews classes! Loving Powerflow yoga!!
This is a great studio with friendly staff and very good instructors. I love that is is so clean and there is great vibe always. I especially love Alison sun 930 class and I feel for whatever type of yoga you like, this place has the instructor to fit your needs. I have been with them under the previous owners as garden state yoga and I was worried powerflow taking over may change the place but it has not. I also go to Clifton powerflow which is very nice as well. Namaste
I've been out of yoga for three or four years, so I decided to try and get back into it. New year, new me all that stuff. The first few classes I've taken since have been great. A nice variety of approaches to the practice and everyone has been friendly and welcoming. I don't have worry about parking, as I walk, but I can see how that might be an issue if you need to drive.
My first time ever taking a class. Took a hot yoga class. I was great. Staff friendly. Instructor helpful n encouraging. A few other students helpful too. Parking is a trick. On the street meters. Good luck. Overall good experience. Going to make time to return.
This was my 1st hot yoga classed and I absolutely loved it. I booked the class through peerfit and the receptionist was very professionally and welcoming, the studio itself was welcoming. The instructor was amazing!
