They are a price gouging the palace. More people need to report their greed so they can get caught in the act of over charging people. I only go here when I don't feel like going further to get items I need at the moment. Make sure you check the expiration dates because items are outdated from time to time. I wouldn't want you to get sick or food poisoned
I hate to write this review because I've been coming to this place for so many years but paying $8.99 for a pre made ceasar salad thats just lettuce and a few chunks of chicken plus a little pack of dressing is whole food prices without the whole and the last straw. It's total convenience for me as I'm a block away but you better believe I shop at trader Joe's and lug two huge bags of groceries all the way back from Manhattan. If I want to spoil myself I grab one of those hemp division teas. At every other place, including Woodstock NY of all expensive places on earth, they charge $6.99! For tea! Great they have some unique products totally hipster but I just can't stomach shopping here. I'm convinced the owner is some rich dude that lives in Florida banking off the shift of "place to be" while totally ignoring half the other part of the neighborhood. I'd say my train stop is a food desert because the only other option besides this grocery store really is the plethora of not so healthy options including little sleazers and or deli sandwiches, cheap sugar snacks and burgers chopped cheese baby. The Mexican food truck right next to it can hold you over as well but be ready to spend $50.00 on a few things here. Legit more expensive than whole foods, not playing! Definitely have really pulled back from shopping here and my wish is to one day soon have a trader Joe's at this stop, gates or even myrtle. It's unfortunate food bazzar closed off myrtle because that was the other option. I wonder how people can afford to pay rent in this neighborhood and do their everyday shopping at this grocery store. Bonkers, and right now with supposed "rising prices" the owner is taking full advantage. Vote with your dollar people, take a stroll down to Mr kiwi or to Manhattan. Something has to give here but it's not going to be. Well, unless it's an emergency and or oat milk oatly $7.99. What always shocks me is I moved out here to save money and where people pay more rent in Manhattan, they get cheaper groceries at trader Joe's all over the city right next door. I even got a Costco card and take the train all the way out to queens to avoid shopping at this grocery store.
Their prices are outrageously high, so high that it should be illegal. Prices are jacked up on an average of $0.65-$1.75 per item higher than its competitors but I do give them credit for having ample stock and a wide range of organic and not so healthy eats!. The cashier's are pleasant to which I always give at least a dollar to! The place is clean and as I said, they have a wide range of products to satisfy your hunger pains, especially for those coming home late after 6pm and can't travel to Wholefoods or Trader Joe's. But now I can't give the panhandler's a dime because I'm penniless by the time I leave this darn store.
The workers are racist here. I’m black. The white Latino male worker at the door asked to see in my tote bag when I walked in. I didn’t think anything of it and let him. When I was looking at the produce, I saw the man at the door ask a black guy if he could see inside in his bag and the black guy refused and walked out of the door. I get my few items and check out and then as I’m walking out of the store entrance and exit are the same, the same white Latino man allows these two white women - one of them had the same size tote as me - to walk through and he didn’t ask to look in her bag. I confronted him on it. He told me he doesn’t speak Spanish so he doesn’t understand. He calls over the “manager” who by the looks of it is black too and also Latino and the “manager” also says he doesn’t speak Spanish so he has another worker ”translate” for him. I explain the situation and they're immediately gas lighting me. The two white women back me up and said that the man at the door did not ask to look in their bag. I ask for their corporate phone number and they refuse to give it to me telling me that they don’t have one. They’re laughing at me, speaking in Spanish to each other not interested in righting their wrong and acknowledging what happened was wrong. It’s clear that the man at the entrance was taught to discriminate against black shoppers vs white shoppers and I made that clear to the workers but again, they laughed in my face. I left and I won‘t be back. If you are black, they will racially discriminate against you. It doesn’t feel good. Do not spend your money here.
Ridiculously overpriced. Whole Foods groceries and produce cost less than in this mediocre local supermarket in Brooklyn where things should be cheaper than in the city. Often price listed on the shelf is not what they charge you at the cash register. Save yourself money and avoid this place
Way over priced items, unfair to the people who have lived in this neighborhood for many years. They jack up prices to make overwhelming profits. $10 for cereal.. Produce is not fresh.
The supermarket is not bad but a little over price
Their store made guacamole is outstanding. The best I have had thus far.
Disappointed every time I come here, prices are outrageous. A dozen medium sized eggs for $7?!
Very curtiouse,Very helpful. The best food shopping experience ever, a little pricey but hey it's worth it.
