This company scammed us. They waited months to pay only part of a claim. Initially verbally told us we’d owe $100, which was consistent with the incident which was damage from a wind storm. No communication from them for months, the bill from mechanic looks to have possibly excessive charges on it but heard nothing about if they bothered to dispute anything. Then find out they decided to change their minds, lie and say it should be covered under collision, and squirm out of $400 to dump on us to pay instead. Their own website states “Damage to your vehicle by events outside of your control” is supposed to be COMPREHENSIVE coverage. THEY OWE US $400! Buying insurance from these people is not making any financial sense. The math wouldn’t add up even if they paid what the contract says, but they dont even pay that. Check out BBB ratings... F, 1/5 stars. I strongly recommend to AVOID this company.
Horrible experience with this insurance company. But I still have a whole year to go with them. I filed a claim on a Monday. Was told that a claims rep. Was going to the garage where my truck was towed on Tuesday. Great I thought, he never showed up. I called and they told me that he'd be there on Wednesday, you guessed it he didn't show up again. Called them up and they said we're really sorry but he'll be out there tomorrow on Thursday. You know the rest. He never showed up, but he did call the mechanic and had him take pictures of my tires and the made his price quote after viewing the photos. He could've done that on freaking Tuesday, right. I'm picking up my vehicle 5 days later on Friday if it's done. I hope I'll never have to file another claim with progressive. I guess I'll blame Flo for this one.
One of their representatives switched the insurance to the wrong car. I was driving with garage protection on my everyday car for a MONTH, and not my full coverage. Good thing my lien holder sent a letter. Took me a while to see that it was their fault to finally get “sorry, but see on the positive side, you didn’t get into an accident”. But what if I did? To top it off for THEIR mistake I would still be charged because my “coverage” would’ve been backtracked to the day their agent messed up. So now that I didn’t get in an accident.... they want my money. Switched to a different company with better rates and more accurate agents.
My wife and I have had insurance through progressive since 2009. Nice to work with as long as you don't file a claim for medical bills. We had an accident in which we were not at fault and had to get a lawyer. We were advised to use our med pay insurance and our lawyer contacted progressive and told them they would be paid back for every penny they spent once we had settled with the other driver's insurance. Progressive refuses to pay the bills letting most go to collections and every time we call we have a new claim rep that we can never get a hold of. It's ridiculous and frustrating this is why we have insurance. Progressive has no interest in paying out what we are rightfully entitled to through our insurance and continues to drag their feet so they can't be sued. Worst insurance company I've ever had and we changed our 3 auto and our home policy elsewhere. Now we have a better rate and better service. Avoid giving your money to progressive as they will never pay you what you are entitled to. Dealing with the other person's insurance was easier then dealing with progressive.
I was involved in a rear-end collision and my experience with Progressive and their Service Center in Greenfield couldn't have gone smoother. Got my Chevy repaired at a shop of my choosing while Progressive was on top of everything--including a rental car that was supplied over the course of a few days. Very pleased with their professionalism and prompt response to my claim.
Worst insurance company ever. Good luck if you hit a deer or get in a accident. Took 2 weeks to send a adjuster out and I originally got a quote for almost 4 grand to fix. His statement was, it's not that bad. No help and they didn't call back ever when they said they would
After we left I thought the staff was wonderful, BUT we were told when we were there that our claim could stay open for 6 years and that we had time to decide if we wanted to keep the car or surrender it after it was totaled out. However, literally 2 days later my husband got a call from a Progressive rep saying they had to close the claim that week so they needed our decision right away. Everyone needs to get on the same page.
This company is terrible. They are currently trying to rip me off. They have undervalued my car by thousands and now are trying to charge me 4 times the salvage value of the car to buy it back. I am getting no where with these people and would never recommend them to anyone. And I will make sure that every area of social media is notified of this until a reasonable solution is found. Safe driver, participated in snapshot program. Member for +1years. And the explanation for my rate increase was everyone had one in your state after a overall state survey was Conducted. So because other's for into an accident and made a claim my rate and clean record goes up $50? Gonna call around. Find a better provider.
I haven't got my claim yet recent accident, so I cannot speak about how that entire process will close. However, I can say that every person I have spoken to has been very helpful and kind. The service center took less than a week to fix my car, and it was in better shape than before the accident cleaned/vacuumed the inside, washed the outside. Thanks to Progressive for making what was already a headache of an experience less of a headache.
