The PT 305 ride was a blast. The volunteers did a fantastic job on restoring this vessel that was a mere shell of its former sell. The crew is enthusiastic about what they are a part of, and they should be. What a great way to remember our greatest generation. Most amazing to me is the authenticity of the work done on this vessel. Every detail is historically accurate and that was not easy to accomplish. My Dad served on the PT 225 and being aboard this vessel brought me back to all his stories. I wish he could have been with me. Please give me a like if you find this review helpful.
A really amazing vessel just make sure your kiddo is over 7 years of age to get a closer look otherwise there is a side view only. The volunteers were amazing and very knowledgeable and imformative about the vessel.
Wonderful piece of naval and World War II history. We had a great experience talking with the volunteers learning about the role of the PT boats and their crews. We did not pay to take a trip on it, but I would definitely consider it for a future trip.
Absolutely loved my visit here!! Great job by all who were involved with the enormous project of the restoration of PT-305. Great museum too, a must if you visit NOLA. Very educational.
It was a great experience. I finally got to see and even ride on a WW2 PT boat. It was an amazing day. If you get the chance I strongly recommend that you do it. The PT Boat was not as I had invisioned it. It was a smooth ride.
I got deck tour tickets for my family for my dad’s birthday, and we had a great experience! Our tour guide, Randy, was knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this for locals and visitors alike!
Go, go, go. The PT 305 boat ride is worth every penny. Only one left in the world and crewed by passionate volunteers that renovated it. A great tour of the coast as well.
It was a nice addition to the The WWII Air, Sea, and Land Fest it's admission was included in the fest tickets so was quite a good deal. Would have been nice to have gotten on the boat wasn't offered to the group I was in. The rides are a bit expensive $350 but I would imagine worth the money for the experience if you can afford it. Would definitely go back if I was going on a ride or bringing friends and guests.
Great location. Very informative. The people who work here are very proud of this PT boat, for good reason. A lot of time and effort was put into getting everything exactly right. All of it is original, and it takes a lot of effort to keep something that is more than 60 years old in peak condition, even running condition. And the fact that this particular boat was made here in New Orleans is a point of pride for them.
Wow! An amazing experience with a really formidable crew. The crew are some of the folks who helped restore the boat and not only do they know every nut, bolt, screw and inch of the boat, but they know its history. So many thanks to all who made this possible.
